Project:

Crafting the ultimate Battle Bot

Introduction:
Battle Bots one of the most thrilling and technologically fascinating spectator sports to emerge
from the crucible of modern engineering. These remote-controlled or autonomous mechanical
gladiators are designed, built, and programmed by teams of hobbyists, engineers, and tech
enthusiasts to fight in an arena where only the strongest, the most cunning, or the most
innovative survive.

The concept of Battle Bots has its roots in the ancient human tradition of competitive combat,
yet it is infused with the futuristic elements of artificial intelligence and advanced
engineering. Each Battle Bot is a masterpiece of innovation, often pushing the boundaries of
what is technically possible. They are equipped with an arsenal of weapons that can include
spinning blades, pneumatic hammers and flipping levers all engineered to disable or destroy
their opponents in a flurry of sparks and metal.

As a sport, Battle Bots has grown in popularity, with competitions broadcast to eager
audiences around the globe, drawing viewers into a world where technology and competition
collide. These battles are not just about brute force; they are a chess match where strategy can
trump strength, and a single design innovation can lead to victory.

From the educational perspective, Battle Bots serves as a dynamic and engaging platform to
inspire the next generation of engineers, programmers, and thinkers. It challenges participants
to apply concepts of physics, electronics, and computer science in a practical, hands-on
environment that rewards creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Methods:
The proposed method for our robot involves dual motor traction for movement. For safety
reasons, the motors are not directly attached to the wheels, as the wheels bear the entire
weight of the robot. Instead, we utilize ball bearings to connect the wheels to the robot's body.
Traction is achieved using a bicycle chain and gears, allowing the motors to rotate the wheels.
While the rear wheels lack traction, they can rotate 360 degrees from their attachment to the
robot's body. To power the robot's motors and weapons, we rely on a LiPo battery with a 30C
discharge rating, providing a current capacity of 2200mAh. H-bridges are used to control the
motor's direction, enabling forward and reverse movement. Our chosen weapon is a heavy-
duty spinning weapon for effective attacks. To operate the robot in the arena, we employ the
FS-i6 Tx & Rx for manual control during battles.
