Target
A great day to you boys and girls in Grade IV!
Numbers are mysterious. In Mathematics, numbers are
related to each other. When you talk of the number of square tiles
used to cover a bathroom floor, you are talking about the area of a
bathroom.
In this module, learner visualizes the perimeter of any given
figure in different situations, measures the perimeter of any given
figure using appropriate tools and finds the perimeter of triangles,
squares, rectangles, parallelograms, and trapezoids.

At the end of this module, you are expected to:

● visualize the perimeter of any given figure in different
situations
● measure the perimeter of any given figure using
appropriate tools
● find the perimeter of triangles, squares, rectangles,
parallelograms, and trapezoids.

Zion wants to stay fit and so he

walks around the park every day
before going to school. What is the
distance that Zion covers every
day?

How will you find the answer to the problem? To solve for the
answer to the problem, you add the measurement of the sides of
the park.
The park has four sides.
So,
55 m + 40 m + 65 m + 35 m + m = 195 m
So, Zion walks a distance of 195 m every day. This distance
around the park is called perimeter.
