Shondaland Plans to hold a Charity Gala

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, MARCH 1, 2024 – Shondaland invites their audience to attend a
Regency-styled ball in theme with their popular show, Bridgerton, to fundraise money in support
of homelessness. The event itself will be made up of volunteers from different backgrounds,
either freelancers or from official organizations. Shondaland has done this to avoid spending
large amounts of money. “It would feel counterproductive if we spent so much creating this
event rather than just donating it to begin with.” Says Shona Rhimes, the founder of the
company.
The Gala will be held on March 15, 2024, at the Historic Venue 1902 in San Antonio, Texas.
Tickets are currently on sale for a low price, and attendees and non-attendees have the option to
donate pieces of artwork to be set on auction. The San Antonio Food Bank has stated that they
will be donating food in support, and everyone is encouraged to donate any canned food they
have. All profits will be going towards building and maintaining new homeless shelters in San
Antonio. This includes the profits of tickets, auctions, etc. Any food that has been donated will
go straight into safekeeping until the shelter home is built. Shondaland will also be working in
collaboration with the San Antonio Food Bank to provide free meals every week for anyone who
needs them.
Turning our attention to the Gala itself, the event will take place throughout the Historic Venue
1902. With each room having a different event going on. The Gala will feature a Ballroom in the
style of the ones featured in Bridgerton, along with food, and drinks. There will be different
auction rooms depending on the items being auctioned off.

About Shondaland and their History

Shondaland, formally known as ShondaLand, is an American television production company.

The first show produced by them is the popular medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy, which
premiered on March 27, 2005, and is still airing to this day. Among their other shows are Private
Practice (2007 – 2013), Off the Map (2011), Scandal (2012 – 2018), How to Get Away with
Murder (2014 – 2020), The Catch, Still Star-Crossed (2017), For the People (2017-2019).
Among many others. In 2020, they created and released Bridgerton in partnership with Netflix. It
was released on December 25, 2020, with its second season premiering on March 25, 2022. Its
third season is currently set to release in two parts, May 16th, 2024, and June 13th, 2024.
