The Cluster II Secondary Schools Press Conference (CSSPC) will be held at Pulung Santol National
High School on March 19-20, 2024, dubbed as “Pinalakas at Pinasiglang Pamahayagang
Pampaaralan Tumutugon sa mga Hamon ng Matatag na Paaralan.”
Furthermore, different secondary schools from Cluster II will compete in the Individual and Group
Categories. The competition guidelines, activity schedule and matrix and other related matters for the
forthcoming CSSPC are attached herewith.
Relative thereto, we would like to welcome you and your contest delegation to the journalistic feat,
which will involve a formal program that will take place on March 19, 2024, at the Pulung Santol
NHS Covered Court (8 AM)

CONTEST MECHANICS

A. INDIVIDUAL CONTESTS

1. Editorial Cartooning
a. Participants are to bring their own pencil/erasers (Mongol #2)
b. Staedtler pencils are not allowed.

2. Photojournalism
a. Participants are allowed to use any camera regardless of the megapixels in the CSSPC
and DSSPC. However, those who will make it to the next level of the competition
(RSPC) are advised to use the prescribed camera (point & shoot) and megapixels 24.
b. SD Cards should be clear of any kind of photos.
c. SD Cards will be checked prior to the competition.
d. Participants are to bring their own card reader/s, camera cord for evaluation.

B. GROUP CONTESTS

1. Radio Broadcasting
a. A 5 minute of broadcast.
b. A group of 7 members (with technical)
c. Participants are to bring their own laptop, extension cords and printer.
d. Laptops are clear of other documents and applications except virtual DJ.
e. They should wear a white shirt and maong pants and avoid wearing any form of
identification of the school.
f. Legal size papers will be used for printing.

2. TV Broadcasting
a. A group of 7 members
b. Participants are to bring their own laptop, extension cords and printer, cameras and other
equipment and materials needed for the pre-recording of newscast.
c. Laptops are clear of other documents and applications except Power Director.
d. Boom pole, handheld or lapel microphones may be used on the broadcast proper.
e. Legal size papers will be used for printing.

3. Collaborative Desktop Publishing

a. A group of 7 members
b. Participants are to bring their own laptop, extension cords and printer with scanner.
c. Laptops are clear of other documents and applications except In Design and Photoshop.
d. A4-sized paper will be used for printing.

4. Online Desktop Publishing

a. A group of 5 members
b. Participants are to bring their own laptop, extension cords and printer with scanner.
c. Laptops are clear of other documents and applications.
d. Wait for the evaluator for the link where to submit the digital entry.

C. OTHER MATTERS

a. Participants are allowed to join two categories as per the consensus during the consultative
meeting/planning for the CSSPC 2024.
b. Individual writers should only bring a pen or pencil during the competition inside the
contest room.
c. Papers to be used shall be provided by the host school.
d. The contestants for the group are allowed to use a maximum of 4 laptops.
e. The top ten (10) contestants per category in the individual will be declared winners and
shall be awarded certificates of merit. However, only the top seven (7) will advance to
DSSPC.
f. For the group contest, only the 1st place winner will advance to the DSSPC while the 2nd
and 3rd places shall serve as alternates if the 1st place fails to join the contest.
g. Contestants’ schedules within a day may be changed as the need arises. Hence, teacher-
coaches are reminded to keep themselves updated with the definite time slot for the contest
categories.
h. Teacher-coaches are advised to serve as proctors to ensure fairness and honesty. They will
not be assigned in the categories where they have a contestant.
i. The announcement of winners will be made at the end of each contest.

D. PAYMENTS

Individual Contest - P 150.00/participant

Group Contest - P 400.00/group
School Paper Adviser - P 300.00
