Prepare the Candidate

Good morning Candidates


Welcome to Zamboanga Sibugay Polytechnic Institute as your assessment Center.
I am Dyesebel T. Dagupan. I am an accredited competency assessor for Dressmaking NC II
Before we proceed to the assessment proper. I would like to acknowledge the presence of Mr s. Rhea
Dulla one of the members of TESDA Representative. Good morning ma'am
You do not have to worry about her presence. He just here to oversee the conduct of competency
assessment and to check if the conduct is in accordance with the procedures and methodologies of
TESDA. She will not assess you.
Before I start, please rise for the prayer (Amen). Let me first check the attendance (roll call). As I call
your name please acknowledge and sign the attendance sheet and kindly submit your admission slip.
I have here with me your accomplished application form with self-assessment guide. This is an
indication that you know and can perform all the units of competency enumerated in Dressmaking NC
II.
-The competency assessor gives the overview of the Qualification to be assessed:
Today, I will administer the competency assessment for Dressmaking NC II.
The purpose of this assessment is to determine the level of your competency enumerated for
Dressmaking NC II qualification.
Qualification or Unit of Competency are composed Basic, Common and the Core Competencies.
For Core Competencies we have 4 Unit of namely:

 Draft and cut pattern for casual apparel


 Prepare cut material
 Sew casual apparel
 Apply finishing touches

You will be performing the folloxwing:


 Draft and cut pattern for casual apparel

-The competency assessor orients/briefs the candidates.
- Task to be Performed and evident to be collected
I will collect evidence through Demonstration and oral questioning. This assessment method can help
measure your underpinning knowledge and skills.
-Personal Needs
For your personal needs, our Comfort Room is located near in the hallway, if you want to take your
meals or to buy foods our canteen is located in front of our assessment area.
-Allowable or reasonable adjustment
If you have difficulty in understanding the given instruction please don’t hesitate t call my attention
because I am willing to explain and translate it for you.
-Do’s and Don’ts during assessment
If you have concerns or questions that need for you to clarify in concern with the assessment you
may asked for I am willing to assist you. But once the assessment started please refrain from asking
questions because it is no longer allowed.
-Right and Appeal System
In case you have any question regarding with the assessment result you have the right to appeal, you
can submit you appeal to the TESDA Provincial Office
-Issuance of COC/NC
The result of assessment could be competent and not yet competent.
If you have passed the assessment, you are Competent. For the issuance of National Certificate you
can claim it at the Provincial Office after 5 working days.
-Reassessment Procedure
If you found not competent. You don’t have to worry about it, you can be reassessed anytime at your
own convenience.
If you found to be competent to some unit of competencies, the reassessment will just6 focused on
the unit of competencies that you are found Not Yet Competent. In case of reassessment of full
qualification, you v have to undergo the whole assessment process.
-Occupational Health And Safety Requirements
For OHS, Kindly observed proper knife handling. If in case of accident occur please call my attention
right away so that proper first aid will be administered. In case you need a first aid, we have a first
aide cabinet at the left side of the hallway.
-Confidentiality of Assessment Outcomes
With the result of your assessment, we observe strict confidentiality this is to ensure your integrity,
this result is only made available to the right personnel and to the institution were had your actual
training.
In relation to this, the assessment package is placed in the secured place, to guarantee the integrity
of the assessment package.
Please do away from giving any form of information that took place in the assessment process.

If none, I will now distribute the Competency Assessment Agreement sheets. Please read the
instructions carefully and answer all the questions outlined in the document.
If you need assistance, I will be more than willing to assist you.
(After the candidate is through with accomplishing the Competency Assessment Agreement sheet,
you will review the answers and will give feedback, to the candidates.)
-You now assign a number to the candidates
You are Candidate #1, Candidate # 2, Candidate #3 . . . . . Candidate #1 please proceed to the
assessment area while the other candidates you will have to wait at the waiting area.
-Collect the evidence and make the assessment decision
Using the materials tools and equipment for drafting and cutting pattern youre required to perform the
task within 30 minutes i will be observing you while you are performing the task after your
demonstration i will ask you some question related to your demo . You can call me when theres a
need to translate or explain items for clarification after a question i will give you feedback about your
performance i have with me my stopwatch observed the allocated time okay candidates your time
start now( observing the demonstration of the candidates

-After the demonstration, will proceed to oral questioning


Candidate NO. 1 please proceed to the feed backing area. And the rest please wait at the waiting
area.
Candidate NO. 1 Please sit down. What are some of the most important skills for a dressmaker to
have? When measuring the client what measurements do you consider the most important?
-Record on Rating sheet details evidence collected and judgment made about the candidate
performance.

My observation coincide with your opinion, you are in the competent in performing the different
skills for Dressmaking nc II. But there are areas of improvement such as not applying fonishing
touches properly Nevertheless you were able to answer the questions carefully and the result of the
written test showed that you are knowledgeable enough about Dressmaking nc i
Please sign the Competency Assessment Result Summary (CARS)
The issuance of National Certificate you can claim it the TESDA Provincial Office after 5 working days
together with your Pesos and a passport id picture. Congratualations.

Negative Feedback (Candidate No.2): Please sit down. How’s the assessment? My observation
earlier is that you need to focused on task in performing the assessment, I suggest that you should do
reviews on the knowledge and skills for you to become confident.
Ms/Mr. Romero you need to improved your drafting pattern skills because you tend yo forget
procedures in drafting pattern also there are teared parts in the armhole in the collar are not properly
attach
LlBased on the result on my observation during demonstration the outcome of the assessment is that
you are not yet competent, but you can be reassess anytime at your own convience.
