01. Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course:

A. Eligibility Criteria

i)The College admits only female candidates


ii) The candidates should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st
December,2023
iii) Minimum Educational qualification is pass in the Pre-University Examination of
Karnataka Board of Pre-University Education with an aggregate of 45% in
Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects (40% for SC&ST
Candidates) or any other examination recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of
Health Sciences as equivalent to 2 years PUC. English as a subject in PUC is
mandatory.
Equivalency is determined only by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health
Sciences, Bangalore.
iv) Students’ awaiting results may also apply.
v) Religious Sisters should have completed one year after their religious profession
& should not be beyond 35 years of age.

B. How to Apply:

Candidates should submit online application to the Registrar in the prescribed form.

Candidates can generate their hall tickets within 48 hours of successful completion
and submission of application online.

C. Selection:

Candidates who meet the above requirements are required to appear for an entrance
test in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English & General knowledge.

The entrance Test & Interview will be conducted at St. John’s College of Nursing,
Bangalore.

Students awaiting PU result may also appear for the Entrance & Interview, but
admission will be confirmed only after declaration of their result subject to the
candidate securing requisite marks.

D. Fees to be paid for First year(approximate):

With Hostel: Rs. 1,05,370/- (with out Hostel Rs. 89,870/-)

2nd, 3rd& 4th year fees will be approximately Rs. 85,000/-

Each year Mess fee is Rs. 2,500/- per month

02. Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course:

A. Eligibility Criteria

i) The College admits only female candidates


ii) Not above 46 years of age.
iii)Passed Pre-University Examination of Karnataka or its equivalent which is
recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences:
iv) Posses certificates of General Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized School
of Nursing.
v) Be a Registered Nurse under any State Nursing Council
vi) Be a Member of TNAI

C. Fees to be paid for First year(approximate):

With Hostel: Rs.98,300/- (without Hostel Rs. 82,800/-)

2nd year fees will be approximately Rs. 83,000/-

Mess fee is Rs. 2,500/- per month

03. General Nursing & Midwifery Course:


A. Eligibility Criteria

i) The College admits only female candidates


ii) Minimum & Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years. There is no
age bar for ANM/LHV.
iii) 10+2 class passed preferably sciences (PCB) & English with aggregate of 40%
marks.
iv) 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the
school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.
v) Religious sisters, who apply should have completed one year after their first
religious profession.
vi) Students awaiting result also may apply,

Fill the application form and attach the following documents along with the
application

i) Xerox copies of the qualifying exam and certificate showing Date of Birth.
ii) If SC/ST, certificate issued by the Tahsildar
iii) A Demand draft for Rs. 250/- (Application form fees) drawn in favour of
St. John’s College of Nursing and made payable in Bangalore. This amount
is not refundable.
It is the responsibility of the candidate to complete the application and the
enclosures correctly. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

C. Selection

Applicants who fulfill the admission requirement will have antelephonic interview.
Admission is subject to performance in Interview followed by document verification.

D. Fees to be paid for First year(approximate):

With Hostel: Rs.54,280/- (without Hostel Rs. 38,780/-)

2nd& 3rd year fees will be approximately Rs. 45,000/- Each year
Mess fee is Rs. 2,500/- per month

04. M.Sc. Nursing course

A. Eligibility Criteria

i) The College admits both male & female candidates


ii) Minimum Educational qualification is B.Sc. Nursing Degree of Rajiv Gandhi
University of Health Sciences, Karnataka or any other University
considered equivalent by the RGUHS.
iii) One year Experience (after B.Sc. (N) Result)in any clinical/teaching areas,
either in a hospital or in a community.
iv) Minimum one year experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
v) B.Sc (N) course Registration with the State Nursing Council
vi) 55% marks in first attempt at B.Sc. /P.B.B.Sc. Nursing Examination. For SC/ST
of Karnataka State only 50%.

Selection will be based on personal Interview conducted at College of Nursing.

Fees to be paid for First year(approximate):

With Hostel: Rs. 1,27,500/- (without Hostel Rs. 1,12,000/-)

2nd year fees will be approximately Rs.1,14,000/-


Mess fee is Rs. 2,500/- per month

05. M.Sc (N) in Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care Nursing (NPCC)


A. Eligibility Criteria

i) The college admits both male &female candidates.


ii) Applicants must possess a registered B.Sc. Nursing Degree with a minimum
of one year clinical experience in any critical care setting prior to enrolment.
iii) Must have undergone B.Sc. Nursing in an institution recognized by INC.
iv) Must have scored not less than 55% aggregate marks in the B.Sc. programme.
v) Should be a registered nurse in state nursing council

Fees to be paid for First year(approximate):

With Hostel: Rs. 1,68,750/-- (without Hostel Rs. 1,53,250/-)

2ndyear fees will be approximately Rs. 1,59,100/-


Mess fee is Rs.2,500/- per month

M.Sc. (N) in NPCC students will receive a stipend during their training period

06. Ph.D in Nursing


St. John’s College of Nursing is a centre for Ph.D in Nursing Under the RGUHS in
the speciality of Medical Surgical Nursing& Psychiatric Nursing. Interested
candidates need to apply to RGUHS for selection and admission.

Procedure:

i) Log on to University Website www.rguhs.ac.in

ii) Entrance exam will be conducted by the University

iii) Qualified candidates who choose to pursue Ph.D at St. John’s CON may contact
