SLAC CONDUCT OF SLAC

As stated in DepEd no. 35 S.,2016 also known as “The Learning Action Cell as a K to
12 Basic Education Program School – Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy
for the Improvement of the Teaching and Learning, School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) is
conducted to create a collaborative environment where educators can continuously
improve their teaching practices and contribute collectively to the advancement of the
school's educational standards and outcomes. It is designed to encourage continuous
professional development among educators and foster a culture of innovation in teaching.

Last November 23, 2023, School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) was done through the
effort of Mam Ma. Ela M. Sarmienta as the team leader/facilititator of GROUP 2. She
discussed about “Understanding Story Elements and the Use of Graphic Organizer. The
discussion started at eight o’ clock in the morning with 13 participants. The Key and Story
Elements was presented, and cited different kinds of Graphic Organizer that can be used in
each story elements. The key elements also called as the basic bones of story are
Characters, Setting, Plot, Conflict and Theme. The facilitator also cited examples of graphic
organizers like character analysis, and plot pyramid. The discussion ended at 11:30 am.

After the discussion, Sir Rector R. Sabilla, Principal II of Lanigay Elementary School
gave his observations and enumerated some points of view regarding the topics. He also
gave some positive feed backs to the SLAC facilitator and encouragement to the participants
of the activity.

Through this activity it serves as a dynamic platform for educators to collaborate,

innovate, and continually enhance the learning experience within a school. It also an
opportunity to refresh the knowledge that are gained before and helps the
teachers/participant to improve their teaching strategies and methodologies. This also play
a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape and promoting student success.
