Tests and Diplomas
DELF-DALF
DELF (Diplôme d’études en langue française) and DALF (Diplôme
appro- fondi de langue française) are official qualifications awarded by
the French Ministry of Education (Centre international d’études
pédagogiques, CIEP) to certify French language competence of
candidates from outside of France.
Four skills are evaluated for each of the six diplomas (A1, A2, B1, B2,
C1, and C2): listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Alliance Française
is the only test centre in Bangladesh for all DELF-DALF examinations.
TCF AND TEF
TCF (Test de connaissance du français): Alliance Française de Dhaka
is an examination centre for TCF Canada (Test de connaissance du
français Canada). The TCF Canada is a French language proficiency
test that meets the standards of Immigration, Refugees, and
Citizenship Canada (IRCC). TCF Canada results are accepted for
economic immigration or for obtaining Canadian citizenship.
TEF (Test d’évaluation du français): Alliance Française de Dhaka is an
examination centre for TEF (Test d’évaluation de français). The TEF is
an international benchmark test that measures your level of French.

Higher Studies in France
Campus France is a public institution promoting French higher
education abroad and welcoming international students and
researchers to France. In addition to managing scholarship details and
the alumni network, the Campus France desk provides information
helping students develop their goals and complete the formalities. It
assists with the application assessing the recognition of the
documents and sending the information to the chosen institution,
ultimately managing the enrolment process up until the visa request.

Common European Framework of Reference for Languages recognised
worldwide and sanctioned by the French Ministry of Education.

Française de Dhaka can undertake a large variety of courses and
cultural activities.
Good Reasons to Learn French
The world language: Spoken by more than 220 million people, French is
the second most widely learned foreign language after English.
The language for the job market: Communicating in French is an
excellent asset in the international job market. Many international
organisations such as the UN, EU, UNESCO, NATO, Red Cross use
French as either official, administrative or working language.
The language of culture: French is the international language of
cooking, fashion, theatre, visual arts, dance and architecture. French is
the language of Édith Piaf, Hugo, Jules Verne, Marie Curie, Molière, and
Zinedine Zidane.
The language for travel and immigration: The ability to speak even a
little French makes it so much more enjoyable to visit Paris and other
regions of France. Furthermore, immigration candidates for Canada can
also avail significant advantages if they can speak French.
The language for higher education: French can open up study
opportunities at renowned French universities and business schools.
French institutions consistently figure prominently in nearly all
worldwide rankings.

by the Council of Europe is a guideline to describe learners’
achievements of foreign languages across Europe.
3 DELF-DALF are conducted in March, June, September, and December
(please consult the test-exam calendar).
4 A new student seeking admission in any levels other than A1.1 or
resuming after a break of more than two consecutive sessions has to
take a Placement Test to be assigned the correct class level, except
when a six-month-old proof of standardised proficiency is provided.
