LANGUAGE TESTS IN SCHOOLS

Assignment 4 (Pair work/Writing report): (10%)

Read information on school-based assessment.

1. You have to select at least 3-5 articles related to school-based assessment in Malaysia.
(Select current articles published from 2015-2020).
2. Evaluate the articles selected and write a critical review.
3. Your review should cover the following:
- introduction to school-based assessment
- academic components (school and central assessment) and
- the non-academic components (physical activities, sports, co-curricular assessment and
psychometric assessment)
- the effectiveness of SBA implementation in Malaysian schools
- ESL teachers’ readiness to accept school-based assessment
- problems faced by ESL teachers in relation to the implementation of school-based assessment
- efforts taken by various stakeholders to minimise ESL teachers’ problem in relation to school-based

4. Include the reference list using APA style.

Plagiarised work will not be assessed.

Use the Times New Roman typeface, font 12 and 1½ spacing for the paper. No special cover page is
needed. Write your name, matriculation number, course code and title, semester and task title on the
upper right corner of the first page. Write your report in about 2000 words. Submit all written report
on the MyGuru platform.
