KABATAAN CATECHISM SESSION: THE COMMANDMENTS – 6th Commandment

Learning Objectives:

 To let the girls be familiarized with the 6th Commandment : Thou shalt not commit
adultery.
 To Emphasize that the 6th commandment:
COMMANDS:
1. Chastity (Psalm 128: 1-3)
FORBIDS:
1. Lust
2. Masturbation
3. Fornication
4. Pornography
5. Prostitution
6. Premarital sex
7. Incest
8. Rape
 To re-iterate the value of chastity and modesty

Summary of Break-Out Room Activity: Group Reporting

 Topic: Chastity and Modesty

 Flow of Breakout Room:

 Assign the following roles:

o Group Reporter – Group member with the nearest birthday today

(September 21, 2020)
o Group Secretary – Should be the group member who has not yet been
assigned a secretary role.
o Timekeeper – any volunteer from the group

 Titas can share her experiences about the topic to emphasize the importance
of chastity and modesty.

 Discus the: WHAT, WHY, HOW. Some guide questions that can be used for
this: **Titas can ask more open-ended questions to facilitate a fruitful
discussion with the girls.

o What for them (girls) is chastity and modesty? What is their idea or
understanding about it? What are some examples they can think of
related to this?
o Why is it related to the 6th commandment? Why is it important?
 o How can we practice it?

 Finalize the reporting

 40 mins will be allotted for the working group discussion.

 Our target time flow will look like:

o 9:35 – 10:15 : Discussion

o 10:15 – 10:55 : Working group with titas
o 10:55 – 11:35 : Presentation of Reporting
o 11:35 – 11:45 : Summary and closing of session

 Main room: DEBRIEF

General debrief of the day’s session and a summary of the reporting the girls
presented.

End the session by challenging the girls to obey the commandments discussed in the
best way they can, be a good example to their community or even their household.

There are so many ways that the 6th commandment is relevant to the girls and not
just when they get married, but even now. Practicing chastity and modesty will be a
step to prepare them in their future.
