Apparatus Bushings
H-J Enterprises high voltage bushings
have been designed for Air to Oil
applications on liquid filled transformers,
reclosers, voltage regulators, switchgear
and other special power apparatus.
These bushings have top self-cleaning
sheds or skirts, which are designed for
outdoor applications. They are weather
tight on the outside and the shanks of the
bushings have corrugated type petticoats
for optimum leakage distance. They will
have semi-conductive glazing where
higher voltage ratings apply.

H-J Enterprises, Inc.
A solid copper conductor is mounted
through the center of the bushing, its size
depending on the current rating and it is
held in place by machined Aluminum caps
at the top and bottom. The conductors
are provided with standard threads at the
top and bottom. Extra nuts, washers,
spade and cable connectors for any stud
size can be ordered separately. H-J also
manufactures a variety of terminals that
will mount to a threaded stud, which are
based on the external cable mounting
preferences of the customer.
H-J Power Bushings are available in cur-
rent ratings from 208 amps to 3,140 amps
and voltage ratings from 5 kV to 46 kV.
These ratings are given based on the
lower end of the bushing being immersed
in oil. All designs meet ANSI/IEEE stan-
dards.
The bushing mounts to the tank by means
of an intrical cast Aluminum flange ce-
mented to the bottom shed of the bush-
ing. ½” studs (4) located 90º apart must
be welded around a 7-1/2" bolt circle to
accommodate this flange. The gasket is
then installed over the bushing shank onto
the bushing gasket surface. The bush-
