1. To my understanding from the video, social science is the systematic study of people.

It’s for
us to understand the nature of society and ourselves.

Although social science is not as practical as the other field of studies such as those included in
the “STEM” discipline, I still think that it is very much a relevant field to study, especially today.
With civil unrest, income inequality, and inflation on the rise these recent years, more and more
people will need to be more educated about these issues and be ready to face them.

2. 5 branches of social science were introduced in the video. The first branch is Anthropology
which is the branch that focuses on the origin of how we became humans. The second branch
is Geography; this branch focuses on how the environment and our location affect our lives.
Third is Sociology, which focuses mainly on human relationships and society. Fourth is Political
Science, this branch focuses on the chain of commands of powers in society and how they
interact with one another. Finally, the last branch mentioned is psychology which deals with the
brain and human behavior.
