What is

Solution?

a homogeneous mixture which mainly

comprises two components namely solute
and solvent.
On the basis of physical states of solvent and
solute can be categorized as solid, liquid and
gaseous solutions.
Types of Solution

01 Supersaturated
Comprise large amount of solute at a temperature
wherein it will reduced, as a result extra solute will
crystallize quickly.

02 Unsaturated
Solvent is capable of dissolving any more solute at
a given temperature.

03 Saturated
solution in which a solvent is not capable of
dissolving any more solute at a given temperature.
Two Forms of Solution

if the solvent is water or not

01 Aqueous
If a solute is dissolved in
water.

02 Non-aqueous
If a solute is dissolved in a
solvent other than water.
Classification of Solution

depends on the amount of solute added to the solvent

01 Dilute
contains a small amount of solute
in a large amount of solvent.

02 Concentrated
contains a large amount of solute
dissolved in a small amount of solvent.
Homogeneous and Heterogeneous

01 Homogeneous
solutions with uniform composition and
properties throughout the solution.
02 Heterogeneous
solutions with non-uniform composition and
properties throughout the solution.
