Physics Lab Safety Rules

1. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE),


including safety goggles, gloves, and lab coats.
2. Follow all written and verbal instructions carefully, and ask for
clarification if needed.
3. Never eat, drink, or chew gum in the laboratory.
4. Keep the work area organized and free of unnecessary items.
5. Be aware of the location of emergency equipment, such as fire
extinguishers and eyewash stations.
6. Report any accidents or injuries to the teacher immediately.
7. Never perform unauthorized experiments.
8. Handle and store equipment with care, and use it only as directed.
9. Do not touch any equipment or instruments without permission.
10. Use caution with electrical equipment and follow proper
procedures for handling cords and plugs.
11. Always turn off equipment when not in use.
12. Know the location of emergency exits and evacuation routes.
13. Dispose of chemicals and waste properly, following the
designated procedures.
14. Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the teacher.
15. Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of
glassware.
16. Use caution with lasers and follow all safety guidelines for laser
use.
17. Never engage in horseplay or disruptive behavior in the
laboratory.
18. Respect the rights and safety of others in the laboratory.
19. Familiarize yourself with the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
for all chemicals used in the laboratory.
20. Keep emergency contact information readily available.
21. Follow all additional safety guidelines provided by the teacher.
