1 FTS-6 must be serviced by authorized and qualified personnel only. EDAN do not
accept responsibility for safety compliance, reliability and performance if
modifications or repairs are carried out by unauthorized personnel. Identical
replacement parts must be used.
2 The service personnel should be familiar with the operation of this system. Refer to
User Manual of the system for details.
3 EXPLOSION HAZARD - Do not use the system in the presence of flammable
anesthetics or other materials.
4 SHOCK HAZARD - the power receptacle must be a three-wire grounded outlet.
Never try to adapt the three-prong plug to fit a two-slot outlet. A hospital grade outlet
is required. If the outlet has only two slots, make sure that it is replaced with a
three-slot grounded outlet before attempting to operate the system.
5 Any non-medical equipment (such as the external printer) is not allowed to be used
within the patient vicinity (1.5m/6ft.).
6 Do not use the additional multiple portable socket-outlet or extension cord in the
medical electrical system, unless it’s specified as part of the system by manufacturer.
And the multiple portable socket-outlets provided with the system shall only be used
for supplying power to equipment which is intended to form part of the system.
7 If multiple instruments are connected to a patient, the sum of the leakage currents
may exceed the limits given in the IEC/EN 60601-1 and may pose a safety hazard.
Consult your service personnel.
8 Multiple portable socket-outlets shall not be placed on the floor.

WARNING
1. Equipotential bonding: when the device is running with other instruments jointly, consideration
should be given to equipotentiality.
2. Doctors and patients might be exposed to the hazardous and uncontrollable effects of
compensating current caused by unbalanced equipotentiality between indoor medical device and
touchable conducting parts. The safest solution is to build a unified equipotential network, to which
the medical device is connected, using an angular plug.
Connection of other devices to the system may endanger the patient’s safety and void the
manufacturer’s warranty for the system. According to IEC/EN 60601-1 requirements,
connections of peripheral equipment to the system must fulfill either of the following conditions:
20
FTS-6 Central Monitoring System Service Manual Installation
a) The peripheral equipment itself is a medical device complying with IEC/EN 60601-1.
b) Non-medical peripheral equipment approved according to any other EN or IEC standard
must take the following measures during installation:
Connect the equipotential connector of the system to an independent protective earth
terminal with a potential equalization conductor.
The peripheral equipment is located at least 1.5 meters (1.8 meters in Canada and the
U.S.A) outside the patient environment. A patient environment is defined as the area in
which medical examination, monitoring, or treatment of the patient takes place.
The peripheral equipment is connected to a main outlet outside the patient environment
but still within the same room with the system.
1 Make sure the monitor and the power outlet are placed at a place where it is easy
to connect and disconnect the power cord.
2 Make sure the power cord is fastened with the buckle to avoid accidental
disconnection of power cord and thus interruption of power supply.
3. If you want to use a multiple portable socket-outlet to supply power to the whole
FTS-6 system, you are suggested to calculate the system power consumption
when building a FTS-6 system so as to match the system power consumption
with the power sustained by a multiple portable socket-outlet.
The system cannot automatically identify printers it does not support. You should
install the printer driver.

FTS-6 Central Monitoring System Service Manual Principle Introduction
The signals overlap verification (SOV) function helps to detect signals overlapping and
reduce the risks of "monitoring" stillbirth to the least.
5) Multiple fetal monitoring interpretation functions can be chosen
Support four interpretation standards NST/ Improved Fischer / Fischer/KREBS, NICHD
guide, CTG interpretation and so on.
6) Connect to Informationized System of Hospital
Provide HL7 standard interface, which realizes the data exchange between the workstation
and hospital HIS/EMR, adapting to the informatization management requirement of hospital.
7) Synchronize Cloud Data
The cloud data window displays the remote monitoring data (FTS-6 Mobile) on the cloud
server automatically. The mobile phone receives data of wireless transducers and uploads to the
cloud, making up the obstetric remote fetal monitor. Doctor can download data from the software
of the central station that supports cloud and do analysis and printing.

FTS-6 Central Monitoring System Service Manual Periodic Tests
1) The iron ball needs to be immerged in the water during the whole motor process.
2) When FS-3 is not used, take off the attenuation plate and clean it with water and then dry
it. Please be careful when cleaning and wiping and don't damage the surface of the attenuation
plate .
3) Wipe off the coupling gel of the contact surface of bottom of the water sink and the
attenuation plate with gauze. Please be careful in case of breaking the polyester film on the
bottom of the water sink.
4) When replacing water for the water sink, please clean the interior of the water sink. Be
careful when replacing water and cleaning in case of breaking the polyester film on the bottom of
the water sink. Replace the water every 2 to 3 days.
5) Instructions for attenuation plate: Every FS-3 is configured with six attenuation plate
with different thickness and can't be exchanged with other FS-3. Clean the attenuation plate each
time when finishing using it ( the attenuation plate will be corroded by coupling gel if putting it
on the bottom of the water sink for a long time, which will affect the measurement accuracy).
The thickness of the attenuation plate is basically the same with its number( for example, the
thickness for 3# attenuation plate is 3mm) except the 6# attenuation plate, which is 10mm thick.
