To Management Team,
My name is Kohley Lucas and I am a recent MacEwan University BSc Nursing graduate.
I am extremely excited to apply to the registered nursing position in the U of A Hospital. I have
just completed a 5-week clinical experience at the Leduc Community Hospital ER and learned so
much. I believe I would be an amazing candidate for the position as I am hardworking and have
a passion for patient-centred care. I maintain a positive and professional attitude in the workplace
and employ evidence-based practices in all my nursing care. I am team orientated and enjoy
dynamic work within multidisciplinary teams. My strengths include strong communication skills,
nurse-patient/family relations, recognizing how social determinants of health factor into a
patient’s overall wellbeing and time management. I have experience with client de-escalation
and remain calm when handling high-stress situations.
I have 7 years’ experience working for the City of Edmonton as a lifeguard, First Aid
Instructor, and Aquatic Emergency Care/ National Lifeguard Award Instructor. I enjoy working
with the public, engaging with families and young children while maintaining safe aquatic
environments. I am a leader in my workplace and am often tasked with staff training and
education.
As evident by my excellent critical thinking and communication skills, I believe I will be
an asset to the U of A hospital. In my resume, you will find a more detailed breakdown of my
clinical experience. I look forward to having an interview with you, please contact me with any
questions at 780 977 8615.
Regards,
Kohley Lucas
