SUBJECT: MURDER AS DEFINED IN SECTION 47 OF THE


CRIMINAL LAW [CODIFICATION AND REFORM] ACT
CHAPTER 9:23 WHICH OCCURRED AT WESTEND
SHOPPING CENTRE CHEGUTU

This memo serves to put on record circumstances surrounding the


above subject matter:-

BACKGROUND
The deceased is a Member of the force currently stationed at ZRP
pfupajena and was on by-election deployment at Kaguvi C polling
station.

CIRCUMSTANCES

On 03 February 2024 informant was sleeping in his tuckshop when he


heard some groaning sounds on the veranda and went to attend.
Informant found the now deceased lying at the back of the tuckshop
bleeding profusely from the left arm. Informant went to make a report
at ZRP pfupajena. Details from ZRP pfupajena went to attend the scene
upon arrival they discovered that it was a member from their station.
The deceased was taken to Chegutu Hospital where he was pronounced
dead upon arrival. A report was made and details from CID Chegutu and
ZRP Pfupajena attended the scene.
INVESTIGATIONS

Scene was attended by ZRP Pfupajena and CID Chegutu who


made the following observations:
 At the hospital the body was dressed in a floral short and a
Manchester City jersey of which number 082245W Constable
Sainos had seen him at Pfupajena Police station dressed in the
same attire. The now deceased had a deep cut on the front left
lower arm which was protruding to the back suggesting that it had
been inflicted by a Columbian knife.
 The now deceased was found at a tuck-shop which is adjacent to
house number P1460 Pfupajena about 200 metres from Westend
shopping centre.
 A spore of blood was seen stretching for about 100 metres from
the place where the now deceased was found.
 About five meters from the commencement of the blood spore
there is a spot where struggle marks could be seen with a palm
impression suggesting that the now deceased once fell down and
was trying to support himself on the ground. Bare feet impressions
were seen on the area suspected to be those of the now
deceased.
 Number 056015K Sergeant Munyaka of ZRP Chegutu who was the
polling station commander was interviewed and he had to say the
now deceased requested to be excused so that he could go for
supper at around 2000 hours and he permitted him.
 The now deceased’s mother Munengerwa Dambudzo NR 32-
052788L-45 who stays with the now deceased was interviewed
and she had to say the now deceased came home at around 2020
hours dressed in his police uniform and he changed into his civilian
attire then left saying that he would return in a short while.
 Constable Sainos also stated that the now deceased came to ZRP
Pfupajena and borrowed his Police cycle Serial numbers 3151
green and black in colour at around 2130 hours saying he was
going to return it in a short while.
 Currently body is at Chegutu Hospital mortuary awaiting post-
mortem
 Next of kin was advised.

OUTSTANDING .

Take body of the deceased for postmortem.

Account for accused persons and recover the murder weapon

Recover the Police Cycle he had borrowed, his cellphone and his shoes.

Compile a full docket.

Investigations are in progress under ZRP Pfupajena RRB 5785662.
