Ain Nadirah
TRAINER ON GREEN TECHNOLOGY- STEM EDUCATION

ChM. Dr. Ain Nadirah is a registered chemist of Institute of

Chemistry Malaysia and highly experienced educator with
almost 8 years of teaching experience in both high schools and
tertiary education institutions. She holds a PhD in Physical
Chemistry, specializing in the field of green chemistry.

Having worked on innovating starch biomass (sago) into

formulated nanoparticles, hydrogels and film products for
biomedical and industrial applications, she has an in-depth
understanding how to use green technology to substitute the
conventional usage of costly, harmful and non-biodegradable
synthetic polymers, in which her most up-to-date related
achievement include the usage of nanoparticles for effective
drug delivery and the creation of antimicrobial biofilm food
packaging (eco-friendly product).

The products of her R&D– which aspire and contribute towards

the Malaysia National Green Technology Policy– have won
gold medals at multilevel exhibitions, with the production of
two intellectual properties patents (An Antimicrobial Starch
Hydrogel and Antibacterial and Antifungal Starch Based Film).
She is passionate about finding sustainable solutions to
environmental challenges and applying her knowledge to
create innovative products that benefit society.

Dr. Ain's teaching career spans high schools and tertiary

education institutions. She is dedicated to inspiring and
educating the next generation of scientists and engineers,
particularly in the fields of STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Mathematics). She actively engages students
in hands-on STEM projects to foster their interest and
understanding of green technology and its applications.
