2. Traveling to unknown places is significantly easier thanks to smart phones and global positioning systems. This
allows me to receive customized directions based on my present position to a certain destination. I also watch
movies and tv shows online rather than on DVDs, because they are accessible on streaming services and don't
require purchase.

3. Nokia's overestimation of the power of its brand prevented the corporation from innovating. My suggestion is
that they need to have joined the smartphone industry sooner and with more creative goods. Additionally, their
designs were antiquated. In order to remain competitive, they should have concentrated on trendy or new designs.
They also need to invest more in successful marketing efforts, in order to sell their products and establish a strong
brand presence in the smartphone industry.

1. An information system is a collection of numerous data types that guarantees the accomplishment of a business
goal. It is a planned and organized collection of components used to gather, process, and distribute data within an
organization. These components include technology, software, data, practices, and people. Excluding one of the
components may result in decreased functionality, data loss, or inefficiency while performing specific tasks that
depend on that component. Information systems are essential to modern organizations in a wide range of
industries. They can perform a variety of tasks, including transaction processing, management assistance, and
strategic planning.

2. Personnel, in my opinion, is the most crucial part of an information system because it is what makes it work and
ensures its effectiveness. The system must be planned, put into place, managed, and used to its full potential by
qualified and skilled personnel. They take important decisions, maintain the confidentiality of information, resolve
problems, and adapt the system to changing business needs. In my own personal experience, I previously had a
laptop with excellent specs, but after using it for several months, it suddenly started to lag, occasionally
malfunction, and have troubleshooting issues. My cousin, who is intelligent ,skilled, and personnel in advanced
information systems, was able to fix the system and considerably boost performance after I called him. This
emphasizes the crucial role that personnel play in the success of an information system.

1. Yes, organizations can function without hiring a security manager, especially smaller ones, but given
the significance of today's digital environment, this may not be a wise decision in the long term.

Risk Management: Security managers are responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating security
risks. Without proper risk management, organizations are more exposed to potential security incidents
and may not be prepared to prevent or respond to them effectively.

Increasing Cyber Threats: Cybersecurity threats are continually evolving and becoming more
sophisticated. Without dedicated security management, organizations may struggle to keep up with the
latest threats and vulnerabilities, leaving them vulnerable to attacks.

2. No, not always. Anyone with technical expertise should be able to apply for a position in security
management, in my opinion, as it is essential for professionals to be able to comprehend, recognize, and
effectively address security threats, implement security controls, and keep up with the latest threats and
technologies.

1. What are the risks in stressing only one corner of the triangle?
There is a tendency for the effects on the other two corners of the triangle get worse significantly if only
one corner of the triangle is stressed or focused on. Without taking into account the others, there may
be imbalances and unanticipated problems, such as instability and the possibility of inefficiency. This
may lead to resource waste or poor system performance. To achieve successful project outcomes while
fulfilling stakeholder expectations and project objectives, effective project management carefully
assesses and balances all three corners.

2. How would you have managed this project? Can you think of another approach that might have been
more effective?

For me, I would first thoroughly examine the risks involved, to identify potential risks and obstacles
related to the short timeline. Then, I would create a detailed project plan with backup plans for
anticipated delays, cost overruns, and quality problems. Additionally, I would allocate the resources
while taking the project's scope and deadline into account. Despite the possibility of a "unlimited
budget," it's critical to use resources wisely to prevent needless overspending.
1. Yes, she was able to plan her day effectively. She planned her time allocation carefully, taking into
account the relative importance of each topic. In order for the problems to be resolved right away, she
also examines and evaluates some of the problems and discusses them with her team. She also
acknowledges the assistance and quality work of her coworkers. Overall, She sets up a schedule to
ensure that everything, especially crucial details, are addressed and handled correctly.

2. The skills that Ms. Ong possesses as a good project manager:

- Skill to develop people - Skill to handle stress
- Communication skill - Time management skills
- Interpersonal skills - Management and leadership skills

3. Some of the issues Ms. Ong encounters across during the day are client managers asking for features
that weren't originally listed in the project scope statement. Additionally, she was interrupted by her
boss and mistakenly told that one of her member of her team used "shabu" when, in fact, nothing
unusual had been observed. Another project manager, Rachel, asked Ms. Ong's assistance to get her
project back on track because she was unable to complete her own assignment promptly.

4. Ms. Ong project team is knowledgeable, dependable, dedicated, and supportive. The team does a
great job of portraying these characters because they are able to understand the client's desire for more
features and make quick promises to fulfill those needs.

1. Consider the following specification for a personal computer:

• 600 MHz Pentium III Processor
• 256 MB RAM
• 116 GB Hard Disk
• 24x speed CD ROM Drive
• 17” Multimedia Video Display with 1280 x 1024 resolution
• 56 KB Modem

What does it all mean?

a. Processor or CPU- an integrated electronic circuit that performs the calculations that run a computer. A
processor performs arithmetical, logical, input/output (I/O) and other basic instructions that are passed from an
operating system (OS). Their purpose is to receive input in the form of program instructions and execute trillions of
calculations to provide the output that the user will interface with.
• When choosing a new CPU, look for the highest clock speeds possible within your budget while also
ensuring you have the cores/threads you need for your workloads.

b. RAM (Random Access Memory)- is your computer short-term memory. It's where the data is stored that your
computer processor needs to run your applications and open your files.
• Adding more RAM can boost system responsiveness and improve frame rates when compared to systems
with less memory. Check also both capacity and speed when choosing RAM. Know the difference between form
factors like DIMM and SO-DIMM.

c. Hard Disk Drive- an internal or external computer component that stores data, such as the operating system,
applications, and user files.
• Any hard drive will work as long as you know the form factor of the hard drive bays in your case and the
connection types on your motherboard.

d. CD ROM (Compact Disc Read-Only Memory)- a compact disc that is read by optical means. A CD-ROM drive uses
a low-power laser beam to read digitized data that has been encoded in the form of tiny pits on an optical disk. The
drive then feeds the data to a computer for processing.
• To buy a good CD-ROM drive for a computer, consider reputable brands, check for compatibility with your
computer's interface (e.g., SATA or USB), ensure it meets your read/write speed needs, and look for a reasonable
warranty.

e. Monitor- an electronic output device used to display information being entered and processed on a computer.
The primary use of a monitor is to display images, text, video, and graphics information generated by the computer
via a computer’s video card.
• In choosing a monitor it recommend at least Full HD resolution, a response time of 5 ms or faster, a
refresh rate of 60Hz or faster, and a horizontal viewing angle of 178° or more.

f. Modem- an electronic devices that transforms digital data signals into modulated analog signals that can be sent
via analog telecommunications networks.
• To choose a good modem for your computer, start by confirming its compatibility with your Internet
Service Provider (ISP) and the specific internet plan you have. Ensure the modem supports the required speed tier,
typically denoted by standards like DOCSIS 3.0 or 3.1 for cable connections. Consider whether you need a modem

with a built-in router or if a standalone modem will suffice.

ASSIGNMENT NO. 1
T.E. Lawrence was a hero in World War One. He had a strategic vision to use the Arabs against the Turks
in WW1. The British paid their Arab allies £220,000 a month in gold to fight. Lawrence usually delivered
the gold to Prince Faisal, who distributed it equitably. But while traveling in the desert, Faisal was not
available and Lawrence delivered it Faisal’s brother, Abdullah. Abdullah distributed the gold to his tribe
only. The other tribes and his British superiors were naturally angry with him for his error. His superiors
threatened to pull Lawrence from the field. This was a huge failure of?
A. OPERATIONAL
B. TACTICAL
C. STRATEGIC

Ans: Tactical Control as a result of the fact that he failed to carry out his specific plan’s goal, which was to
give the gold to Prince Faisal. Instead, he gave it to his brother, infuriating the other tribes and his British
superior for his oversight. Poor tactical control in your current operations can lead to missed objectives,
resource mismanagement, reduced adaptability, decreased morale, and a damaged reputation for the
organization.

ASSIGNMENT NO. 2
• Which do you think is the best?
- Phased Implementation is the best because it offers the opportunity to test the new system or process
in practical settings. It allows an organization to move from one system to another slowly.Prior to
complete implementation, it enables the collecting of user and stakeholder feedback that may be
utilized to hone and improve the system. Due to the ability for businesses to concentrate resources on a
single phase at a time, this strategy offers better resource allocation and management. It assists in
avoiding potential resource shortages or bottlenecks. Additionally, it provides the freedom to change
based on the results of each phase. Due to their ability to adapt, operations are able to handle any
unforeseen difficulties or required changes.
