ADJECTIVE CLAUSES (the music which we listened last night was good
music)
Adjective clause digunakan untuk memberi keterangan,
identitas dan informasi lain kepada katabenda. Dalam struktur
Adjective Clause ditandai dengan Relative Pronoun (kata ganti
yang menunjuk pada kata benda yang berfungsi sebagai
penghubung dalam kalimat.) adapun relative pronoun tsb
yaitu:who, which, whose, whom, where and when
 "Who" digunakan untuk menjelaskan kata ganti orang
dalam posisi Subject clause. membicarakan seseorang,
bukan benda.
 "which" digunakan untuk benda dan hewan baik
dalam posisi subject maupun object
 "Whose" digunakan menyatakan kepemilikan atau
untuk mengganti kata ganti milik "his", "her", "their".
 "Whom" digunakan untuk menggantikan kata ganti
orang jika posisinya adalah sebagai obyek
 "Where" digunakan untuk membicarakan suatu
tempat.
 "When" digunakan untuk membicarakan waktu. Bisa
itu jam, hari, bulan dan juga tahun.

I saw the man. He closed the door
(I saw the man who closed the door)
He is the man. He works hard to his family
(he is the man who works hard to his family)
The girl is happy. She won the contest
(The girl who won the contest is happy)
The student is from china. He sits next to me
(The student who sits next to me is from china)
2. Whom
The man was Mr. Jones. I saw him
(The man whom I saw was Mr. Jones)
The Girl is a bright student. I gave her a special reward
(The girl whom I gave a special reward is a bright
student)
I like the woman. I met her at the party last night
(I like the woman whom I met at the party last night)
The people were very nice. We visited them yesterday
(The people whom we visited yesterday were very
nice
3. Which
The book was good. I read it
(the book which I read was good)
Muezza is a cat. It is very faithful
(Muezza is a cat which is very faithful)
The Car is very dirty. She is cleaning it
(The car which she is cleaning is very dirty)
The music was good music. We listened it last night
4. Whose
I know the woman. Her car was stolen
(I know the woman whose car was stolen)
The man works as a teacher. His motorcycle is antique
(The man whose motorcycle is antique works as a
teacher)
The people were nice. We visited their house
(The people whose house we visited were nice)
I know them. Their cars are parking in front of my
house
(I know them whose cars are parking in front of my
house)
5. Where
The building is very old. He lives there (in that
building)
(The building where he lives is very old)
Yogyakarta is the city. I was born here.
(Yogyakarta is the city where I was born)
That is book store. I will meet you there.
(That is book store where I will meet you)
That is drawer (laci). I keep my jewelry there
(That is drawer where I keep my jewelry)
6. When
I will never forget the day. I met you then (on that
day)
(I will never forget the day when I met you)
7:00 is the time. My plane arrives then (at that time)
(7:00 is the time when my plane arrives)
September is the month. I celebrate my birthday
then (in that month)
(September is the month when I celebrate my
birthday)
This is the year. The Olympic Games will hold
(This is the year when the Olympic Games will hold)
