Examination Structure
---------------------------------
Individual modules may have examinations and those
modules that have examinations will be graded. For more
details on the assessment of individual modules, please refer
to the associated document “Table of Assessment”
In addition to the module level evaluations, there will be
comprehensive examinations. For trainees in Long Cycle
training, there will be two examinations, one each towards
the end of generic phase of the training and another towards
the end of the stream specific phase of the training. For the
Short Cycle trainees, there will be one integrated
comprehensive exam towards the end of their training. The
associated document “Guidelines for Comprehensive Exam”
gives details on the structure of the comprehensive exam.
The modules that are evaluated are called the evaluated
courses and the trainee will be awarded a grade based on
his/her performance in the various evaluation components.
Please refer to section 2.1 for the details of the grades.

Infosys training procedure
In case a trainee is required to be released earlier than the
Foundation Program schedule, the process adopted is to
change over the trainee to other alternate prescribed
program namely Extended FP or Short cycle, as applicable.
Table of Grades
--------------------------
Grade Awarded % of marks obtained
A 80 and above
B 65 and above
C 55 and above
D 50 and above
E Below 50
Marks awarded will be the sum of marks awarded for various
evaluation components. These components could have
different weightages. The details of the evaluation
components and their weightages are described in detail in
the document “Table of Assessment”.
To successfully complete a course, a trainee needs to get a
minimum of a “B” grade. If he/she gets a grade lower than
that of “B”, he/she will be given one more chance - a repeat
evaluation. The repeat evaluation could be a test or a project
depending upon the evaluation components and the marks
obtained by the trainee. If the performance has been equally
poor, then a decision on which component to be reevaluated
has to be arrived at with the consent of the trainee and the
educator. The maximum grade a trainee can get after the
repeat evaluation would be “B” and in case of a worse
performance in the repeat evaluation the best of the two will
be considered.

Conducting Exams
----------------
Examinations for conducted for Individual components
through an OLE ( Online Examination ) Tool or a tool named
Perception Tool.
Usually 2 Quizes ( 15 questions ,15 marks each) + Test ( 35
questions - 70 marks )
totally 100 Marks.
Projects are group projects which carries normally 40 marks.

1. More than 2 “C” grades across all courses (generic and
stream)
2. GPA less than 4.0
3. “D” or an “E” grade after retest for any course.
In case the trainee falls under any of the above, E&R will

Infosys training procedure
The American Society for Training and Development has
rated Indian IT major Infosys Technologies Ltd as the world's
best in employee training and development.

Praising the training practices at Infosys's Global Business

Foundation School, the ASTD gave the 'Excellence in Practice
Award 2003' to Infosys.

The award, which recognizes training practices aligned to

organizational goals, is a testimony to Infosys' commitment
to providing added value to its clients through high quality
and trained workforce, said a media release.

The Global Business Foundation School is a structured

programme to enhance technical and behavioural
competencies of fresh engineering graduates.

The one-year programme at the school readies freshers for

the challenging software career ahead of them.

"The spirit of learnability among our people and an

organisational commitment to continuous personal and
professional development keeps Infosys at the forefront of
the fast-changing industry," Infosys' COO Krish
Gopalakrishnan said.

"The programme requires participants to integrate

technology, methodology, people and process elements. In
addition to technical courses, fresh entrants are exposed to
courses on communication skills, interpersonal skills,
management development and quality systems to absorb
the company's corporate culture," said Gopalakrishnan.

M P Ravindra, vice-president and head education & research,

GBFS, said: "About 71 percent of all recruits in Infosys during
the past three years have been fresh entrants who
graduated through this training programme."

This is the second consecutive year that Infosys has won the
