I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:
● Define and differentiate between creative writing and technical writing.
● Reflect on learnings about various creative writing types, deepening
appreciation for self-expression and diverse forms.
● Produce a short creative writing piece in a chosen genre, applying the
learned elements and techniques effectively.

III. PROCEDURE

A. Preliminary Activities
● Opening Prayer
“Good morning! Okay students, first let us pray.
Who would like to lead the prayer” (A student will lead the opening prayer)

● Greetings
“Good morning class” “Good morning ma’am.”

“How was your week? Were you able to enjoy the
long weekend? “Yes ma’am, it was fun ma’am ”

• Classroom Conditioning
“Before we begin with our lesson kindly arrange
your chairs properly. Pick up those pieces of (Students will do as the teacher says)
papers and put all your bags down.”

● Checking of Attendance
“Okay great, now let us check your attendance,
when I call your name, please raise your hand and (Students will raise their hand and say present
say present.” as the teacher calls their name)

● Checking of Assignments
“So last week I remember giving you an
assignment, were you able to do your
assignments?” (Students answer) “Yes ma’am”

“Okay then, I will be collecting your assignments, (Students will follow the teacher)
please pass your notebooks in front thank you”

“How is Creative Writing different from Technical


Writing”

“Who would like to read the first paragraph?” (A student volunteers to read the paragraph.)

Creative writing is a piece of writing which focuses


on imaginative and symbolic content and creative
papers are published to entertain, provoke, inspire
the user.

“Thank you so much. Now when we say creative (The student will give their insights.)
writing what comes to our mind?”

“Very Good!”

“Creative writing is used extensively in literary


pieces like poems, novels, short stories and stage
plays, including creative non-fiction. As such,
creative writing is often associated with literature.”

“Creative Writing is also called the Imaginative


writing.”

“It is imaginative because the writers can create


characters or personas or fictional setting in the
literary piece with the use of human experiences.”

“Now when we say Technical Writing. Who would (A student volunteers to read the paragraph.)
like to read the definition.”

Technical writing is a piece of writing which


focuses on factual and straight forward content and
technical papers are published to inform and
instruct and educate the user about some specific
topic.

“Thank you very much. Who would like to tell me


their own understanding of technical writing? Where (The student will give their insights.)
do we usually see this?”

“Technical writing is a type of writing that aims to


guide, instruct, and explain specific subjects. It is
commonly employed by professionals in the
information and technology industry.”

“Thank you very much.”

Creative and Technical writing, let us read the

E. Generalization

F. Application
“For this activity, the class will be divided into
groups of five. Each group will be tasked to write a
Concrete poetry consisting only of 100 words or
less. You may choose any theme or topic for your
writing.”
