ETAP 21.0.

2 RT Installation & MongoDB Configuration

Build #: ETAP 21.0.2.22094

Purpose: This document walks through ETAP 21.0.2 RT installation and provides instructions for
ETAP RT configuration.

PRE- INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS


Enable .Net 3.5 from Windows Feature, if it’s not already enabled
Windows 11/10 machine

Server 2019

You need to check if .NET Framework 3.5 Feature is enabled. If not, then check .NET Framework
3.5 and install it.
ETAP SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
The ETAP RT installer is available in .ISO & .ZIP formats; installation process is similar for both.
1. Installer file: ETAPRT2102RTEN.zip; decompress it before step 2.
2. Launch the ETAP 21.0.2 RT Installation Manager executing EtapInstaller.exe.
3. Select Installation option: “Software”.
Note: the images and steps below belong to the “Software” option. If License Manager installation is
required, then it can be installed separately.

4. Check on “I agree to the license terms and conditions, then click on “Install” button.
5. Click on Next at System Requirements for ETAP 21.0.2 RT window.
6. Click on Next at MongoDB Setup information window; leave the default settings at this window.
7. Click on “Install” button at Choose Destination Location or change its path to desired location.
8. Installation takes a few minutes to complete.
9. Once installation is completed a shortcut is created at the desktop.
LICENSING & RUNNING ETAP
1) Launch and Test ETAP:
After Installation, Click on Windows “START” menu > “ETAP 21.0.2 Real Time” Folder > And click on “ETAP
21.0.2 Real Time”. Or from the shortcut on the Desktop.

2) ETAP will start. At the License Path Selection, choose the 2nd row and enter the License Server IP address or
computer name. Then OK. Note: Internet Connection is required.

3) Once ETAP is connected to the License Server, the following screen will prompt for Activation Code.

IF ETAP IS RUNNING NOW, YOU MAY STOP AT THIS POINT.

ETAP RT CONFIGURATION
1. ETAP RT System Configuration
Proper setup and configuration are described below (it is imperative to execute the sequence as
indicated). Also, execute all *.exe files as Administrator. Note that an Admin account is required for
this configuration.
a. Launch ETConfig (first thing to do is setup the Gatekeeper Connection String).
b. Click on Set Credentials and Test buttons.

Note: When ETConfig is launched for the first time, it opens at MongoDB tab, the Manage Connection
Strings button may be disabled.

c. After executing step 12.b, all ETConfig tabs should get enabled. However, “Manage
Connection Strings” button may still be disabled.
d. Close ETConfig and reopen it; “Manage Connection Strings” button should be enabled now.

e. Click on “Manage Connection Strings” button.


f. Click on “OK” button at Input Credentials; no need to enter username or password.
g. Click on “Save” button at Connection Strings.

h. Go to the System Configuration tab.


i. Click the Apply button.
Note: no other configuration settings are required at ETConfig at this
time.

2. ETAP User Access Manager (UAM) Configuration


a. Launch ETAP User Access Manager (UAM) as an Administrator. Its executable is located at
ETAP 2102 RT\EtapScadaIntegrator\EtapUserAccessManager.exe.
b. Setup Users and Roles then hit Apply to execute the configuration at ETAP User Access
Manager.
3. Back to ETConfig
a. Go back to ETConfig, resume setting up the configuration settings to take a system online.
It is highly recommended to configure Example-RT Industrial or Transmission and take online as a test.
b. Click on Apply button to execute configuration.
c. Click on Register DLLs.
d. Save the configuration (if desired).

4. Take System Online


a. Take system online. System should go online successfully.
