For this task, you will be required to select a piece of equipment that can be used from the
outdoor education shed as well as a piece of outdoor equipment that is not available at the
shed to focus on for the task.
The item of technology from the shed I have chosen is:
Trangia
The additional item of technology I have chosen is: backpack

Usage:

● 1. Unpack your Trangia stove


● 2. Pour fuel, methylated spirits, into the burner,
● 3. Put the filled burner onto the stand
● 4. Use a lighter or match to ignite the fuel in the burner.
● 5. Adjust the flame height using the control lid on the burner.
● 6. Set up the windshield around the burner
● 7. Place your cookware on top of the stand
● 8. Keep an eye on your cooking
● 9. Allow the stove to cool down. Then, carefully extinguish the flame
● 10. Clean up everything

Extension:
If you finish all of the above for BOTH pieces of technology, you are to work on the following
extension tasks:

Improvement of Technology:
1. Adding a better windscreen to keep the flame steady in windy conditions, which
saves fuel and cooks food more evenly.
2. Include a knob for adjusting the flame, giving users more control over cooking
temperatures.
3. Making the stove base more stable on rough surfaces would also increase safety
and convenience
4. Using lighter and tougher materials would make the stove easier to carry and more
durable for outdoor use.
