Due to the fact that a new popular game was introduced, its reputation spread like
wildfire. Instant success followed. I also learned that after the game gained popularity,
Naismith created and introduced the 13 original rules, which included information on how
to move the ball and what constituted a foul. There would be a five-minute break in
between each of the two 15-minute halves of the game. The regulations were printed out
and posted on the bulletin board by Naismith's secretary. Everything included in these
thirteen rules was clear to understand even if you are new to this sport. Naismith did a
great job in creating these rules because it promotes entertainment while also promotes
physical activity. I can see that creating a sport / game is not an easy task to do, it requires
Basketball in the world become such a popular sport that it even has its own sport
competition among different countries, it is called FIBA Basketball World Cup. It is held
every four years, this year 2023, Philippines is one of the countries that will host FIBA
Basketball World Cup alongside with Japan. This is such an honor to our country because
the last time that the Philippines hosts FIBA was back in 1978.
Basketball is the most popular sport in the Philippines, it was introduced during the
American colonial period. Up until now, you can see basketball everywhere, Filipinos
loves this sport. It is fun and helps them to stay physically fit because this sport requires
a lot of movement. Teenagers in the Philippines really enjoy engaging in this sport. For
young Filipino players and fans, basketball is the most satisfying sport because of its
strategic, dynamic, and joyful nature. One of the traits I like in being a Filipino is that we
are friendly to each other, we love to play games together, or have a little sports night
together. Most of the people in our country loves basketball because it is intense,
Filipinos are also very supportive when it comes to their fellow “kababayan”, just
like when their favorite Filipino basketball team is playing against other local or
international team, they will clear their schedule just to watch the game, I know that
because my father and grandfather always watch TV to support their favorite team. The
game is enjoyable for both players and spectators, in addition to being simple to learn
and fitting well in the Philippines due to its competitive and unpredictable nature. Filipinos
like being kept on the edge of their seats by a game's unanticipated turns because they
love entertainment.
