Ampere's Law states that for any


closed loop path, the sum of the
length elements times the magnetic
field in the direction of the length
element is equal to
the permeability times the electric
current enclosed in the loop.
NOTES:

Steady current

Only current inside the loop are taken into account


and have contribution to the resulting magnetic field

Algebraic sum of the current (i.e., positive going


; negative - going use the right hand rule

Easily applicable to highly symmetric surface
