Reflection

Setting foot into my work immersion venture, I experienced a blend of anticipation and
apprehension, uncertain about the experiences that awaited me at the CHO (City Health Office).
Nevertheless, from day one, the encounter proved to be illuminating and gratifying. Submerging
myself in the dynamic realm of healthcare administration, I quickly adapted to the assigned
tasks, ranging from fundamental procedures such as measuring blood pressure to assisting in
patient admissions. With each passing day, fresh challenges and educational prospects emerged,
facilitating a gradual acquisition of expertise and bolstering my self-assurance.

With time, my comprehension of the intricate mechanisms within the healthcare sector
deepened. From maneuvering through computer systems for streamlined data management to
engaging in lectures addressing public health concerns, I gained a comprehensive understanding
of the multifaceted nature of healthcare provision. Collaborating with professionals from diverse
backgrounds further broadened my perspective, underscoring the significance of interdisciplinary
collaboration in ensuring holistic patient care. Additionally, hands-on activities like the blood
typing session not only expanded my knowledge but also instilled a heightened appreciation for
the pivotal role of healthcare interventions in preserving lives.

As the work immersion program drew to a close, a profound sense of fulfillment enveloped
me. The concluding days were characterized by enlightening lectures on critical subjects such as
CPR and vaccines, equipping me with indispensable life-saving skills. The culminating
ceremony, where certificates were conferred, served as a poignant reminder of the transformative
odyssey we had embarked upon. Armed with newfound insights, practical proficiencies, and
cherished memories, I emerged from the immersion program imbued with deep gratitude and a
readiness to embark on future pursuits within the healthcare domain.

Work Immersion Report: Days 1-4

Day 1: Orientation and Distribution
On the first day of my work immersion, our group gathered at the City Hall where we were
assigned to various offices within the Local Government Unit (LGU). I was allocated to the City
Health Office. The day commenced at 9:30 AM and concluded at 5:00 PM. This initial day
primarily involved familiarizing ourselves with the office environment and understanding the
tasks ahead.

Day 2: Learning Basic Procedures

Day two presented an opportunity for hands-on learning. I was introduced to basic medical
procedures such as taking blood pressure (BP) measurements and admitting patients. Under the
guidance of experienced staff, I gained practical experience in these essential tasks.

Day 3: Advancing Skills

By the third day, I began to feel more confident in my abilities. I focused on mastering the
techniques learned on the previous day, particularly BP measurement and patient admission.
With increasing practice and minimal assistance from the nurses, I successfully conducted these
tasks independently.
Day 4: Mastery and Further Learning
On the fourth day, I consolidated my skills further. BP measurement became second nature, and I
progressed to learning digital admission processes. Additionally, I had the opportunity to assist a
nurse in providing care, which included aiding in the cleaning of an infected wound on an elderly
patient's feet.

Overall, the first four days of my work immersion have been both educational and rewarding.
I've gained valuable experience in medical procedures, developed confidence in my abilities, and
contributed to patient care under supervision. I look forward to continuing this journey of
learning and growth in the coming days of my immersion.

Work Immersion Report: Days 5-8

Day 5:
On the fifth day of my work immersion, I continued to gain practical experience in patient
admission procedures, utilizing computer systems for efficient record-keeping. The workload
was notably intense due to the high influx of patients. Despite the challenges, this day provided
valuable exposure to the fast-paced environment of healthcare administration.
Day 6:
The sixth day of my work immersion involved further utilization of computer systems for patient
admission processes. Additionally, during the afternoon session, I had the opportunity to visit the
laboratory to undergo a blood test to determine my blood type. This experience allowed me to
understand the importance of laboratory procedures in healthcare settings and provided insight
into personal health awareness.
Day 7:
Utilizing computer systems for patient admission remained a central aspect of my activities on
the seventh day. However, the day also included participation in a lecture organized by the city

Candon National High School
health office. The lecture covered essential topics such as AIDS/HIV awareness, family
planning, and the correct usage of condoms. This session enriched my understanding of public
health issues and emphasized the significance of preventive measures in healthcare.
Day 8:
On the eighth day of my work immersion, I continued to engage in patient admission procedures
using computer systems. Additionally, this day introduced a collaborative opportunity as we
welcomed a partner OGT midwife from ISPC. Collaborating with a professional from another
institution provided valuable insights into different approaches to healthcare delivery and
enhanced my understanding of interdisciplinary cooperation in the field.

Overall, these four days of work immersion have been enriching and have provided me with
diverse experiences in healthcare administration, laboratory procedures, public health education,
and interdisciplinary collaboration. I look forward to further learning and growth opportunities in
the remaining duration of my immersion.

Work Immersion Report: Day 9-10

Day 9:
Introduction:
On the ninth day of our work immersion program, an exciting event took place as a new school
joined our program. It injected a fresh wave of enthusiasm and learning opportunities for all
participants. In the afternoon session, we delved into a crucial aspect of healthcare -
understanding blood types and their significance.
Morning Session:
The arrival of the new school brought a surge of energy and new perspectives to our work
immersion program. Interacting with students from another institution expanded our
understanding of different educational systems and practices. We embraced the opportunity to
exchange ideas and experiences, enriching our learning journey.
Afternoon Session - Blood Typing:
The highlight of the afternoon session was the blood typing activity. This hands-on experience
provided us with practical knowledge about blood types, their compatibility, and the importance
of matching blood types for transfusions. Through this activity, we gained a deeper appreciation
for the critical role of blood donation in saving lives.
Day 10:
Final Day Activities:
As our work immersion program neared its conclusion, we engaged in a series of informative
lectures aimed at enhancing our skills and knowledge in healthcare. In the morning session, we
received a comprehensive lecture on Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), equipping us with
essential life-saving techniques.
Afternoon Session - Vaccine Lecture:
The afternoon session was dedicated to an enlightening lecture on vaccines. We learned about
different types of vaccines, their components, administration techniques, and the importance of
vaccination in preventing diseases. Understanding the correct administration procedures,
including the correct sizes of injections, was emphasized to ensure efficacy and safety.

throughout the immersion period will undoubtedly shape our future endeavors in the healthcare
field.
Closing Ceremony:
In a heartwarming ceremony held at 4:00 PM, we gathered for the awarding of certificates to
mark the successful completion of our immersion program. It was a moment of pride and joy as
we received recognition for our dedication and hard work. The certificates, symbolizing the
culmination of 80 hours of immersive learning, served as a testament to our commitment to
