QUESTION
1. A male college student had died following a fall from his condominium unit. It
is believed that he had committed suicide due to stress, as indicated by a note
that he left for his mother. The forensic pathologist who carried out the autopsy
collected samples and handed them over to the Investigating Officer for
submission to the forensic laboratory for toxicology analysis. The police had
classified the case as death due to suicide pending completion of investigation.

(a) What types of samples can be collected for toxicology analysis?


(b) Why do you think the samples listed in (a) are important for toxicology
analysis?
(c) Explain why there is a need for toxicology analysis although the case has
been classified as suicide.

between the attacker and victim. During the autopsy, it is known that the victim
