newspaper reporting as the primary research starting points.
You might even make enquires with a UNSW librarian in seeking out
other sources of information. Note that the Dot-point Brief is due in Week

beginning of Week 2 for you to upload your submission.

• A full outline of the requirements for this Individual

Assessment task will be available separately

• For CVEN9742 its worth makes up 35% of the marks

• In compiling your Reflective Journal it needs to be done on a

regular basis (Hint: Make it a weekly occurrence!)

• Address the themes of the Lecture/ Workshop

• Write responses to the Workshop issues

• Then address specifically the two important or interesting

experiences/ knowledge items for you in the week

• In addressing these two key points are five aspects that you
need to address:

1. What did I learn in class/ out of class about the weekly

topic?
-2-

2. Why are those experiences/ knowledges important to

my future as an engineer/ manager?
3. How will I use those new experiences/ knowledges
right now as a professional student and/ or employee?

4. What else do I need to do to enable me to confidently

use this experience/ knowledge?

5. What did I do well this week and what else do I need to

do to improve next week?

3. In the organisation in you work (or have work in previously)

complete the ‘Examples of identifiable activities’ in the
Minzberg managerial roles table within the Lecture 1.

If you have never been employed pick an Engineering
