Introduction
Teacher Education is truly vital in creating the team of
teachers that will mold the next generation. Teachers
has must be made proficient in Indian values,
knowledge and traditions and they must be well-
versed in the latest developments in pedagogy. Four
year Integrated program in Education is aims to
integrate the liberal science and Liberal Arts with
B.Ed. pedagogy. MHRD introducing Integrated
Teacher Education program all over the India effects
from 2020. New programme is qualitative and but it
facing some challenges also
Researchers conducted a survey on PCGEA students to find out the ‘Challenges and
opportunity of the Integrated Teacher Education programme' and it helped to understand
the attitude, interest of students towards ITEP ; result will helps make necessary
modification in ITEP to bring students in to teaching profession.
Objectives of study
• To assess the mind-set and interest
of Students towards ITEP.
• To identify the difference in-
between 2 year B.Ed. Programme
and four year B.Ed. programme.
• To identify the advantages of
Integrated Teacher Education
programme.
• To identify the disadvantages in
ITEP and find out remedies .
• According to the recommendations of
Case Study New Education policy -2019 MHRD
introducing Integrated Teacher
Education program all over the India.
At present very few Educational
institutions are providing ITEP . To
find out “ The attitude and interest of
students towards ITEP and to find out
the difference in between 2 years
B.Ed program and ITEP, a
questionnaire was given to students
and their answers are qualitatively
analysed.
Sampling

• For the study purpose, the Researcher


had taken 168 students of Parishkar
College of global excellence in
Jaipur District , Rajasthan state as a
sample through simple Random
sampling . All these students were
studying in the 1st and 2nd year in
Integrated B.Ed. and average age is
17 to 18 years.
Research Tool

• The Researchers have used


questionnaire of 9 question
to collect the information
from the students and also
collected some information
through interaction with
students.
Method
• To collect the opinion of
students the Researcher had
given a questionnaire to
students on 25.09.23. He asked
students to write their opinion
on “ ITEP and 2 years B.Ed.
program” and their answers
were analyzed qualitatively
using Rating scale.
Hypothesis
The researcher has conducted a study on
the basis of some hypothesis to understand
Challenges and opportunities of integrated
Teacher Education program.
• Integrated Teacher Education program is
more useful than two years' B.Ed
programme.
• Students will shown more interest
towards ITEP than two years B.Ed
programme.
• ITEP will improve Teaching skills among
Student-teachers.

Findings
This study clearly ascertained that
• 64.4 percent of students have chosen the ITEP course to
become teachers.
• 77.3% students have chosen ITEP course as per their wish.
• 77.9% students considered ITEP course to save 1 year.
• 72.2% students did not consider ITEP course to be very
expensive.
• 54.7% students considered ITEP course to be better than two-
year B.Ed.
• 92.4% students considered ITEP course to be more employable
than two-year B.Ed.
Opportunity (Pros) of ITEP
• In present Education system 5 year is require to get B.Ed. degree. But
ITEP saves students’ one-year valuable time and money.
• ITEP prepares high quality teachers in the Major and pedagogy
subjects.
• ITEP students will gets dual-liberal bachelors degree, in Education
and specialized subjects such as History, Mathematics, Computer,
Science, Economics, Music etc.
• Students learning will be evaluated through continuous assessment
pattern via seminars, test, etc.
• Students will learn science or Arts along with the Education.
• Educational Institutions shall charge the fee, as prescribed by the State
Government.
• ITEP provides good infrastructure facilities to learners like library and
laboratories, etc.
Challenges (Cons) of ITEP
• Most of the faculty in B.Ed. colleges have got their master Degree
through distance mode and they have not skilled full to teach in
the multi-disciplinary Institutions.
• Sports, Games and cultural activities did not given much
importance in ITEP programme.
• Some colleges giving unfair Internal marks.
• Lack of full time Faculty .
• Many Colleges have not proper Computer, multimedia, internet,
photocopying facilities.
• Enough books are not available in many college libraries.
• Long duration of the programme, not supporting the study; they
get married.
