ALGEBRAIC EQUATIONS
Equations
• Use substitution in equations to generate tables of
ordered pairs.
• Extend solving equations to include:
- Using additive and multiplicative inverse
- Using laws of exponents

MODERATION OF FORMAL TASKS

• Moderation refers to the process that


ensures that the assessment tasks are fair,
valid and reliable.
• Moderation tool/instrument should be
complete for each task
• Moderation should be carried out internally
at school and/or externally at district,
provincial and national levels.

MODERATION OF FORMAL TASKS

• Given that the promotion of leaners is largely


dependent upon the SBA (which contribute
60% in Senior phase); the moderation
process should be intensified to ensure that:
➢ Learners are not disadvantaged by the
invalid and unreliable assessment tasks.
➢ Quality assessment is given and high
achievable standards are maintained.

CONCLUSION
• The revised ATP must be used in conjunction with
the clarification of notes in CAPS.
• In SP, Examination will be re-introduced in term 4
with paper 1 and 2.
• Minimum suggested marks and weightings per
task are in accordance with abridged Section 4 of
the CAPS.
