Cat-Fish House

Created by Kaitlyn R.
Modeling by Rose and Ru

Materials
4 mm cotton cord
5.5 mm hook
8 inch flower decorating hoop

Key:
ss = slip stitch
sc = single chain
inc= increase
dcr = sc decrease
ch = chain
hdc = half double crochet
BLO = back loop only

A few notes:
- This pattern is done in a spiral so you won’t need to
connect rows after row 1.
- The front of the house should be “cone” shaped
rather than flat. You can adjust the pattern as needed
for thicker/thinner cord, larger/smaller hoop, or
different gauges as long as you’re forming a cone. If it
looks flat or wavy, unwind and take out some stitches.
- The increases and decreases are staggered to avoid
forming any lines. That means that the rows with an
even number of single chains will start with half the
sc’s before the first inc/dcr (ie. if there are 12 sc
between each increase, you’ll start the row with six sc,
then increase, and then finish the row with another six
sc).
- Use an invisible increase and decrease to avoid
unsightly lines.
- The entire body is done using single chain only. The
tail and fins are made using half double crochet in the
back loop only to create the ridged appearance.
