INTERNSHIP AND MENTORSHIP
Internships provide outstanding
opportunities by enabling students
to learn about potential career
paths, incorporate lessons into work
settings and make connections in
the industry. Students engage with
potential employers as early as their
sophomore years. International
internship opportunities are also
available.
RESEARCH AND ENGAGEMENT
Our students contribute to Purdue’s
commitment as a research institution.
For example, our researchers worked
with a multi-disciplinary team and
industry to investigate opportunities
for the use of automated vehicle
technologies on the airside. This
research was sponsored by the
Airport Cooperative Research
Program (ACRP), which is part of
the National Academies of Science,
Engineering and Medicine.
OUTREACH
Each year, Purdue’s Women in Aviation
chapter hosts “Girls in Aviation” Day,
an opportunity for girls in grades 3-8
to visit the Purdue University Airport,
explore Purdue aircraft and participate
in aviation related activities. Study
abroad programs in the U.K. and
China enhance a student’s worldview
and create an opportunity to visit
peer universities, airports, airlines
and international aviation regulatory
agencies.
