Part of the deforestation is blamed one
the provide-spread use of wood for fuel.
In many area alternative energy sources
are either not available or relative more
costly. Electrical power availability is
very limited. In many area where it is
available from the national grid,
rationing supply schedules are applied.
Another problem is thata number of
relatively new power generation plants
government’s interest in developing
cascade hydropower schemes, such as
the Baluchaung River, The Baluchaung
No.3 HPP is the third and downstream
stage of a cascade development of
three hydropower projects on
Baluchaung River.
 BACKGROUND
The Baluchaung No.3 HPP
is located in Kayah state
Loikaw.
The project is located on
the right bank of the lower
Baluchaung River.
The live storage provided
by the Mobye Reservoir
enables energy generation
by its downstream
hydropower projects
throughout the dry season.
The purpose of EIA is to

GEOLOGY

karstification. Impure argillaceous

 Conclusion
❖ People in the drainage of the Baluchaung CHAPTER 4

technique and the fishing tradition here is
very long.
❖ The fishing needs hooks or the iron beds,
