Baby Rhino Crochet Pattern

Materials
Approx 125g double knit yarn for the body, head, ears, legs, tail (main colour)
Approx 50g of different colour for the horn, and bottom of legs (alternate colour)
2 x 10mm safety eyes
Stuffing
3.5mm hook

Stitches used
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch
ch = chain
sc2tog = single crochet 2 stitches together (decrease)
2sc in next = 2 stitches together in the next stitch (increase)

If using double knit yarn and a 3.5mm hook, the finished item is approximately 25cm high
when sitting, and just under 40cm in total.

5. 3sc, 2sc in next, repeat - 15

7. 5sc, 2sc in next, repeat - 21
8. 6sc, 2sc in next, repeat - 24
9-10. 24sc (2 rows)
11. 4sc, sc2tog, repeat - 20
12. 20sc

Close the ear with 7sc, and sew both sides of the bottom together
Leave a long thread to sew the ears to the head
Do not stuff the ears
Sew the ears between rows 37 and 35 with 13 stitches between

LEGS (make 4)

Start with the alternate colour (if using), at the bottom

TAIL

In the main colour


1. magic circle with 6sc
2. 1sc, 2sc in next, repeat - 9
3-10. 9sc (8 rows)
sl st to finish, leaving a long thread
Loop 3 strands of yarn through the end and knot
Lightly stuff the tail
Sew tail on the back in the middle between rows 11 and 13

HORN
In the alternate colour, starting at the bottom
1. chain 20 and sl st to join into a circle
2. sc20 - 20
3. sc8, sc2tog, sc8, sc2tog - 18
4. sc6, *sc2tog x 3*, sc6 - 15
5. sc3, sc2tog, repeat - 12
6-7. sc 12
8. sc 2, sc2tog, repeat - 9
9. sc 9

Stuff and sew onto the end of the nose
