theshipwasslowlysinkingintothewater. Myfacewaspale,becauseIknewthatIwould,
too,becarriedawayandfallintothedarkwatersinnotime.Ihadnohopesforsurvival.The
wholesurfaceoftheshipwasdamp,andthewaterwasice-cold.Therewaswaterallover
the floor, so it was as slippery as melted butter. The smoky scent of theship'schimneys
mademecough.Itwasuselesstokeepthemon,consideringtheywereofnouse.Thatship
wouldneversailagain.Duetothehumidity,thewoodenfloorhasbecomelumpy,makingit
evenmoredifficulttowalkwithouttripping.Theknottedropesthatholdthemastunleashed
one by one, and the mast that used to be erect was about tofall.Ilookedatthenarrow
corridors, completely flooded as the flickering lights faded. The wood from the deck was
