Carmel is a charming t-shirt with braided

ribbing. It is simple to knit, entirely made with
Friends Kid Silk, Hobbii
stockinette stitch, consisting of a front piece,
72% Mohair, 25% Silk, 3% Wool
25 g (0.9 oz) = 200 m (218 yds) back piece and short sleeves.

Pattern

BODY

Front
On 3.5 mm straight needles CO 108 (124) 140 (156) 172 sts with col. 47.
Work as follows (all sizes):
Row 1: k
Row 2: p
Row 3: k1, p 2, * k 6, p 2* repeat from * to * to the end of the row, k 1
Row 4: p1, k 2, * p 6, k 2* repeat from * to * to the end of the row, p 1
Row 5: k1, p 2, *pass 3 sts to the back to the cable needle, k 3 and work 3 sts from the cable
needle, p 2* repeat from * to * to the end of the row, k1
Row 6-10: work sts as they appear
Row 11: as Row 5 (cable)
Row 12-16: work sts as they appear
Row 17: as Row 5 (cable)
Row 18-22: as work sts as they appear
For XL and XXL sizes: repeat Rows 17-22.

On the next row, change to 4 mm needles and the color to 28. Work in a stockinette stitch
104 (104) 114 (124) 134 rows. In the next row start forming the neckline, BO the middle 24
(24) 28 (32) 32 sts then, BO on both sides of the neckline in every other row: 3 sts, 2 sts, 1 st,
1 st, 1 st. Continue working until the piece will have 128 (128) 147 (156) 172 rows from the
beginning of the stockinette stitch. BO all sts.

Back
Work as the front piece, but start forming the neckline in the 110th (110th) 120th (130th)
140th row.

SLEEVES
On straight 3,5 mm needles CO 82 (82) 90 (90) 98 sts with col. 47.

Work Rows 1-12 with a cable stitch just like the front piece. Change to 4 mm needles and the
color to 28. Work straight in stockinette stitch 20 (20) 25 (30) 30 rows. BO all sts.

NECK
On circular needles 3.5 cm and color 47, pick up sts around the neckline 144 (144) 184 (192)
216 sts.

Round 1: k
Round 2: k
Round 3: *p 2, k6* repeat from * to * to the end of the round
Round 4: *p 2, k6* repeat from * to * to the end of the round
Round 5: *p 2, pass 3 sts to the back to the cable needle, k 3 and work 3 sts from the cable
needle* repeat from * to * to the end of the round
Round 6: work sts as they appear

Work rounds 1-6 a total of 2 (2) 2 (3) 3 times.

BO all sts

FINISHING
Sew the front and back of the sweater at the shoulders, then sew the sleeves to the
armholes, and then finally sew the sleeves and sides together.
