SUBJECT: Numeracy
LESSON TITLE: identify, count and write 1-200
DURATION: 35 minutes
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: At the end of this lesson, the child will be able to:
1. Identify numbers between 1-200
2. Count numbers between 1-200
3. Write numbers between 1-200 in note book with small grid.
4. Identify the serial arrangement of numbers between 1-200

KEY WORDS: Identify, count, write.


INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Number cards, charts, small grid notebook,
projector presentation, sand paper cards.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The child is familiar with these numbers and can count
and write these numbers in note book with large grid.

PRESENTATION -INDIVIDUAL
STEP 1: The directress prepares the materials and invites the child to the mat.
STEP 2: The directress identifies learning materials with the child.
STEP 3: The directress use the chart and starts with numbers 1-50
STEP 4: The directress trace the numbers on sand paper cards and ask the child to
do same to reinforce writing.
STEP 5: The directress use the flash cards, shows the child how to combine the
numbers from 10 -50 and allow the child to do the same.
STEP 6: The directress tells child to identify and count numbers 1-50, and to feel
free to use the charts and material at any time.
STEP 7: The directress write no 1-50 in small grid note book and ask the child to
count and write same numbers in the space provided below the numbers written up
by the directress.

STEP 8: The directress play a video on numbers using the projector.
STEP 9: The directress repeat the same process for the other number 51-100, and
100 -200 in the other periods lessons.

EVALUATION:
1. Point to numbers randomly and ask the child to identify the number.
2. Tell the child to use the flash card to combine number 20, 18, 14, 29, 30, 60,
72, 86, 95, 99, 100, 200, 101, 106, 170, 154 etc.
3. Tell the child to identify numbers before and after

TOPIC: Finding letters with SMA.

DURATION: 35 minutes
BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES: At the end of this lesson, the child
should be able to:

a. Identify letters with the SMA

b. Find letters with SMA

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: flash cards, SMA, Projector

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The child is familiar with the sounds and


letters of the alphabets.

CONTENT: The child would learn to identify and find letters using
SMA.

PROCEDURE:

STEP 1: The directress introduces the topic and invite the child to
the mat.

STEP 2: The directress displays the materials and identifies them.

STEP 3: The directress does three period lessons on the letters and
sounds using SMA.

STEP 4: The directress flash a card with a picture, and ask the child
to identify. eg, dog.

STEP 5: The directress spells a word using the SMA and asks the
child to repeat the name. e.g F A T

STEP 6: The child repeats step 4 and 5.


STEP 7: The directress rounds off the lesson.

CONCLUSION: The directress uses the projector to views letters


and sounds.

EVALUATION:

Direction: sound and write the name of the animal in the picture.

TOPIC: Broad stairs and variation

DURATION: 35 minutes
BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES: At the end of this lesson, the child
should be able to

a. identify the materials

b. work with the materials by being creative.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Broad stairs and pink tower

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The child has been introduced to broad


stairs.

CONTENT: The child would work with broad stairs and pink tower.

ROCEDURE:

STEP 1: The directress introduces the topic.

STEP 2: The directress displays the material and identifies them.

STEP 3: The directress works with the broad stairs and pink tower.

STEP 4: The child repeats the above exercise while the directress
observes

STEP 5: The directress rounds off the lesson.

EVALUATION:

The child performs the exercise while the directress observes.

CONCLUSION: The child works with broad stairs and pink tower.

CONTENT: The child would learn to state and observe the


ground rules.

PROCEDURE:

STEP 1: The directress introduces the topic.

STEP 2: The child identifies the materials

STEP 3: The directress lists the ground rules.

a. Greet your teachers as you come into the classroom.

b. Raise your hand before you speak during lesson.

c. Ask for permission before leaving the class.

STEP 4: The child repeats the exercise while the directress


observes.

EVALUATION:

The child performs the exercise while the directress


observes.

CONCLUSION: The child state and observes the ground rules.

CONTENT: The child would learn to introduce him or herself.

STEP 1: The directress introduces the topic.

STEP 2: The directress introduces herself as the child


listens.
STEP 3: The child introduces him or herself while the
directress listens.

STEP 4: The directress rounds off the lesson.
