Eligibilitv Criteria :-

i. She/ He must be a citizen of lndia& preferably a resident ofthe State ofOdisha.

ii. She/ He must have good communication skill in local language (Odia).

iii. She/ He must have good knowledge in reading/ writing / understanding English Language for
Official / Administrative purpose.
iv. She / He must be ofGood Character and physically sound.
v. She/ He should not have any criminal case pending in any Police Station/ Court.

Ase Limit:- Up to 50 years of age as on 0l .01 .2024 (as per HSC/Matric Certificate).

Educstional Oualilication :-

i. For Clinical Psychologist - Postgraduate degree in Psychology or Clinical psychology or


Applied Psychology and a Master of Philosophy in Clinical psychology obtained after
comPletion of a full{ime course of two years which includes supervised clinical raining from
any University recognized by the University Grants Commission established under the University

Crants Act, 1956 and approved & recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India Acr, 1992.
ii. For Psychiatric Socaal Worker - Postgraduate degree in Social Work and a Master of Philosophy

in Psychiatric Social work obtained after completion of a fulFtime course of two years which
includes supervised clinical training from any University recognized by the University Grants

Commission established under the University Grants Act, 195G.

iii. Candidates having experience in the relevant field work will be given preference.

Remuneration:

i. A consolidated fixed remuneration of Rs.40,000/- (Rupees Forty Thousand) only per month
+Performance lncentive (Maximum Rs. 10,000/-) is admissible for both category posts.

ii. Performance Incentive amount will be determined by the prison authorities based on the
evaluation of their monthly performance, punctuality and discipline.
iii. No other allowances are admissible for such engagement.

, i. The above positions are purely temporary as of now for a period of one year. Continuation of

the engagement will be subject to a review after one year. CanvassinS in any form will render
the candidate disqualified for the position.

ii. This engagement gives no right to any candidate for demandinS permanent post or seniority in

future in any regard.


ili. The candidate has to produce relevant original certificates, without which her/his candidature

shall be rejected.

iv. lf any candidate is found to have suppressed any material information or furnished false

information/documents, her/his case shall not be considered for the post and incase already
engaged on the basis of said information/documents, her/his service shall be summarily
terminated from the Prison Organization.

v. Number of positions/ remuneration as mentioned above may vary at the time of actual

engagement.

vi. The authority reserves the right to modify or cancel the engagement/selection criteria of all
positions at any stage of the selection process without assigning any reason thereof.

vii. The result will be published in the official website of Directorate of Prisons & Correctional
Services, Odisha.

viii. No TA or DA will be Biven to candidates for attending the interview.

Terms and Conditions:-


l. Selected Candidates shall have to work in any Jail located in the state ofOdisha.

2. Thcy may give three choice places of their posting. The same could be considered depending on
the feasibility, but not binding on the authority.

3. They may have to work in more than one Jail in the close proximity or as per requirement ofthe

Prison Organization.

4. Requirement of MPHs in jails at Angul, Athgarh(McP), Balangir, Balasore, Baripad4 Bhadrak,


Bhawanipatn4 Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Banaigarh, Cuttack (Choudwar), Dhenkanal, Jajpur,
Koraput, Malkangiri, Nayagarh, Puri, Rourkela & Sambalpur shall be fulfilled from this Walk-
in-[nterview.
5. They should have to work under the direct control/ supervision ofconcemed Jail authority.

6. They will ordinarily be attached with onejail, but may have to visit otherjails in the same district

or nearby jails of other districr as per requirement. While visiting such jails, actual fare or the
TA/DA as per Covt. norms will be reimbursed.

7. They have to obey the Rules and Procrdure as regard to the maintenance of safety and security of
Jails as per Odisha Model Jail Manual (OMJM)-2020 and Prison Department.

8. They have to work in coordination with the Jail authoritiev Jail Medical Officeri deployed
Psychiatrist for delivering better service.

9. Use of Mobile and any other prohibited articles are strictly restricted during the duty hour.

10. They shall be allowed to avail 12 days Special Leave in a Calendar Year. The leave so
provisioned can be availed subject to the prior permission of the concemed jail authority and
proportionate to the working months ofthe MHP and no other kind ofleave is admissible.

They should be punctual and sinc.ere in their duty and should not remain on leave without prior
permission of the competent authority.
12. Any candidate who intends to quit the job before six month of his joining shall have to refund at
least two months remuneration to Prison Department.
13. After selection, the selected candidare has to join duty within the stipulated timeline specified by

the competent authority, failing which her/his selection shall be cancelled immediately. No
^, reprcsentation/ request for extension ofjoining time will ordinarily be entertained'

14. The selected candidate has to sign an agreement with the compctent authority beforejoining the
position.

Interested candidates are required to download the application from our website and attend the Walk-ln-
lnterview on the scheduled date and time with the filled in application form already submitted by her/him
along with the original of all certificates staning from HSC to M. Phil and 3 numbers recent taken
passport size photographs and to produce same for verification at the time of interview'

N.B:-The authority i.e., the D.C. of Prisons & D.C.S., Odisha reserves the right to defer and cancel the
said interview at any point oftime in public interest.
