Terms and Conditions – 2024/25
The terms and conditions set out below relate to the awarding of University of Lincoln International
Scholarships in respect of the 2024/25 academic year.
For the purposes of this document, the following definitions shall apply:

Definition of ‘Student’:
An overseas fee-paying student.
Definition of ‘Programme of Study’:
A University of Lincoln;

• Undergraduate Programme
• Postgraduate Taught Programme
• Pathway Programme, including International Year One and Pre-Master’s

Definition of ‘Country or Regional Scholarships’:


The following University of Lincoln International Scholarships will collectively be referred to as ‘Country or
Regional Scholarships’;

• Africa Scholarship
• China Scholarship
• European Union Scholarship
• Egypt Scholarship
• South Asia Scholarship
• South East Asia Scholarship
• Turkey Scholarship
• USA Scholarship

General Terms and Conditions applying to all University of Lincoln International Scholarships:

Eligibility

1.1. To be eligible to receive a University of Lincoln International Scholarship, Students must have an
offer of a place on a Programme of Study starting in September 2024 or January 2025.

1.2. Students must be classified as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes.

1.3. University of Lincoln International Scholarships will only be awarded to Students studying a full time
Undergraduate Degree, or Postgraduate Taught Programme, at a University of Lincoln campus
within the UK. Students enrolled onto a University of Lincoln distance learning programme are not
eligible to receive a University of Lincoln International Scholarship.

1.4. Students will automatically be considered for a University of Lincoln International Scholarship after
they have submitted their application to study at the University. The exception to this is the Global
Leaders Scholarship; students who wish to be considered for this scholarship must submit a
scholarship application form prior to the deadline specified in clause 13.3.

1.5. University of Lincoln International Scholarships are awarded as tuition fee discounts. No cash
alternative is available.

1.6. Students must complete the area of permanent residence section in their application to study at the
University of Lincoln, in order to be eligible to receive a Country/Regional Scholarship.

1.7. University of Lincoln International Scholarships are not valid in conjunction with each other; only
one University of Lincoln International Scholarship per Programme of Study will be applied.

1.8. Students who have been awarded sponsorship from an organisation, or government body, for the
full amount of their tuition fees will not be eligible to receive a University of Lincoln International
Scholarship, except in instances where the University of Lincoln has a formal agreement in place
with the sponsor. Students who are in receipt of a study loan from a government body or private
organisation will be eligible to receive a University of Lincoln International Scholarship, subject to
meeting the relevant criteria.

1.9. Students who are repeating a year of their Programme of Study will not be eligible to receive a
University of Lincoln International Scholarship.

1.10. Students studying a Pathway Programme, such as the International Year One or Pre-Master’s, will be
entitled to a University of Lincoln International Scholarship, where eligible, when continuing their
studies on an Undergraduate Programme, or Postgraduate Taught Programme.

Disclaimer

2.1. The University of Lincoln reserves the right to withdraw a University of Lincoln
International Scholarship if the Student is subsequently found to be ineligible after an award has
been made.

2.2. The University of Lincoln reserves the right to amend the provision of University of Lincoln
International Scholarships at any point and without notice.

2.3. All University of Lincoln International Scholarship decisions made by the University of Lincoln are
final.

Global Undergraduate Scholarship

3.1. The Global Undergraduate Scholarship is valued at £2,000 and will be applied as a tuition fee
discount for each fee-paying year of study on an Undergraduate Programme.

3.2. To be eligible to receive the Global Undergraduate Scholarship, Students must have
submitted their application to study at the University of Lincoln prior to the deadline
of Saturday 1 June, 2024.

Global Postgraduate Scholarship

4.1. The Global Postgraduate Scholarship is valued at £1,000 and will be applied as a tuition fee
discount.

4.2. To be eligible to receive the Global Postgraduate Scholarship, Students must have
completed a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent qualification that leads to
postgraduate study) from a recognised institution, and have obtained a minimum of a 2:2
classification (or an equivalent).

4.3. Students must have an offer of a place on a postgraduate taught programme (such as an MA or
MSc) to be eligible to receive the scholarship. Students studying a master’s by research
programme will not be eligible to receive the scholarship.

4.4. Students who are studying a two-year Postgraduate Taught Programme will only
be eligible to receive the Global Postgraduate Scholarship during the first year of their studies.

Africa Scholarship

5.1. The Africa Scholarship is valued at £3,000 and will be applied as a tuition fee discount against
the cost of a Postgraduate Taught Programme.

5.2. To be eligible to receive the Africa Scholarship, Students must be domiciled in Africa (excluding
Egypt). Students must also have completed a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent qualification
that leads to postgraduate study) from a recognised institution, and have obtained a minimum
of a 2:1 classification (or an equivalent).

China Scholarship

6.1. The China Scholarship is valued at £5,000 and will be applied as a tuition fee discount against
the cost of a Postgraduate Taught Programme.

6.2. To be eligible to receive the China Scholarship, Students must be domiciled in mainland China.
Students must also have completed a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent qualification
that leads to postgraduate study) from a recognised institution, and have obtained a minimum
of a 2:1 classification (or an equivalent).

Egypt Scholarship

7.1. The Egypt Scholarship is valued at £5,000 and will be applied as a tuition fee discount
against the cost of a Postgraduate Taught Programme.

7.2. Students must be domiciled in Egypt to be eligible to receive the scholarship. Students
must also have completed a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent qualification that leads to
postgraduate study) from a recognised institution, and have obtained a minimum of a 2:1
classification (or an equivalent).

European Union Scholarship

8.1. The European Union Scholarship is valued at £5,000 and will be applied as a tuition fee
discount against the cost of a Postgraduate Taught Programme.

8.2. To be eligible to receive the European Union Scholarship, Students must be domiciled in an EU
member state country. Students must also have completed a Bachelor’s degree (or an
equivalent qualification that leads to postgraduate study) from a recognised institution, and
have obtained a minimum of a 2:1 classification (or an equivalent).

South Asia Scholarship

9.1. The South Asia Scholarship is valued at £3,000 and will be applied as a tuition fee discount
against the cost of a Postgraduate Taught Programme.

9.2. To be eligible to receive the South Asia Scholarship, Students must be domiciled in one of the
following countries; Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan or Sri Lanka. Students
must also have completed a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent qualification that leads to
postgraduate study) from a recognised institution, and have obtained a minimum of a 2:1
classification (or an equivalent).

South East Asia Scholarship

10.1. The South East Asia Scholarship is valued at £5,000 and will be applied as a tuition fee
discount against the cost of a Postgraduate Taught Programme.

10.2. To be eligible to receive the South East Asia Scholarship, Students must be domiciled in one of
the following countries; Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar,
Philippines, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam. Students must also have completed a Bachelor’s
degree (or an equivalent qualification that leads to postgraduate study) from a recognised
institution, and have obtained a minimum of a 2:1 classification (or an equivalent).

Turkey Scholarship

11.1. The Turkey Scholarship is valued at £5,000 and will be applied as a tuition fee discount
against the cost of a Postgraduate Taught Programme.

11.2. Students must be domiciled in Turkey to be eligible to receive the scholarship. Students must
also have completed a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent qualification that leads to
postgraduate study) from a recognised institution, and have obtained a minimum of a 2:1
classification (or an equivalent).

USA Scholarship

12.1. The USA Scholarship is valued at £5,000 and will be applied as a tuition fee discount
against the cost of a Postgraduate Taught Programme.

12.2. Students must be domiciled in the USA to be eligible to receive the scholarship. Students
must also have completed a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent qualification that leads to

postgraduate study) from a recognised institution, and have obtained a minimum of a 2:1
classification (or an equivalent).

Global Leaders Scholarship

13.1. The Global Leaders Scholarship is valued at 50% of tuition fees for one year of study. The
scholarship will not be awarded for any subsequent years of study at the University.

13.2. To be eligible to apply for the Global Leaders Scholarship, Students must have a conditional
offer or unconditional offer of a place on an Undergraduate Programme, or Postgraduate
Taught Programme, commencing at the University of Lincoln in the 2024/25 academic year.

13.3. The Global Leaders Scholarship is competitive. In order to be considered for the scholarship,
Students must submit a University of Lincoln International Scholarship Application form prior
to one of the deadlines listed below:

For a Programme of Study commencing in September 2024:


Round One: Friday 1 December
Round Two: Friday 1 March
Round Three: Saturday 1 June

For a Programme of Study commencing in January 2025:


Round One: Tuesday 1 October
Round Two: Friday 1 November

13.4. University of Lincoln International Scholarship Application forms received after the
deadline will be considered at the next applicable application round. Applications
received after the final deadline will not be considered.

13.5. In addition to submitting a University of Lincoln International Scholarship Application


form, Students must also meet the academic requirements set out below.

13.5.1 Students intending to join an Undergraduate Degree are expected to achieve a


minimum of 128 UCAS points (or equivalent) in their High School studies.

Students who are in the process of completing their studies at the time of
submitting a University of Lincoln International Scholarship Application form will
need to include a copy of their most recent High School transcripts.

13.5.2 Students intending to join a Postgraduate Taught Programme must have obtained
a minimum of a 2.1 classification or higher (or its equivalent) in their
undergraduate degree.

Students who are in the process of finishing their studies at the time of submitting a
University of Lincoln International Scholarship Application form will need to provide
a copy of their most recent Bachelor’s degree transcripts.

14.1. Students who have been awarded a Global Leaders Scholarship must choose to accept or
decline the scholarship award, and pay a CAS deposit (where applicable), by the date specified
in the award confirmation email. The University reserves the right to withdraw the offer of a
Global Leaders Scholarship if the acceptance and/or CAS deposit deadline has not been met.

14.2. The University endeavours to notify Global Leaders Scholarship applicants of a scholarship decision,

via email, within 10 working days following the applicable round closing date.
