About The University of the West Indies (The UWI)

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) is a multi-campus, regional


university serving the English-speaking Caribbean. It is an internationally
accredited institution, comprising four (4) physical campuses - the Mona
Campus in Jamaica, the St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad & Tobago, the
Five Islands Campus in Antigua & Barbuda, and the Cave Hill Campus in
Barbados. The UWI also includes the Open Campus, which is an online
campus with sites across the Caribbean region.

Located on the beautiful Caribbean island of Barbados, the Cave Hill


Campus is a fully accredited institution, comprising seven faculties, with When to Apply

General Matriculation Requirements
Undergraduate
Four-Year Entry (Basic Entry Requirements): Minimum of five (5)
CSEC (CXC) subjects (General Proficiency Grades I-3) and/or GCE ‘O’
Degree Programmes
Levels (Grades A-C), including English Language and either a foreign
language, mathematics, geography, or an approved science subject; or
equivalent qualifications.
Three-Year Entry: Basic Entry Requirements PLUS two (2) two-unit
CAPE subjects AND/OR GCE ‘A’ Levels, or equivalent.
The UWI accepts a range of international qualifications including:

z West African Senior School Certificate Examination WASSCE/
SSSCE)
z SAT / ACT/ Advanced Placement (with high school transcript)

English Language Requirements

All applicants to undergraduate degree programmes at The University of


the West Indies must possess English Language qualification.
