The diagram below shows parallelogram ABCD with vertices A (− 3 ; − 6) ; B (4 ; 0) ;


C( − 1 ; 10 ) and D( p ; q ) .
• M is the point of intersection of diagonals AC and BD.
•  is the inclination of line BC with the positive x-axis.

2.1 In the diagram below, O is the centre of the circle with points P (2 ; − 4) and
Q (a ; b ) on the circumference.
Q is the reflection of P across the line y = x
RT is a tangent to the circle at point P.

2.1.1 Write down the coordinates of Q. (2)

2.1.2 Determine the equation of the circle. (2)

2.1.3 Determine the gradient of OP (2)

2.1.4 Hence, determine the equation of the tangent RT (3)

2.1.5 A line perpendicular to the tangent RT calculated in 2.1.4 cuts the circle at
