The Golden Rule clearly states and emphasizes the way we must deal and treat our fellows.

It can be
simply explained by two other quotes which are: “Love begets love” and “Respect begets respect.”
On the other hand, the Ibanag Proverb can be explained both literally and symbolically.
Literally when you have borrowed something, you must openly embrace the responsibility of both being
careful and grateful. Careful in the sense that you should be able to return what you have borrowed
exactly the way how it looks when you have borrowed it. You also need to be grateful in such a way that
if you have the means of returning it with a token, then that will surely make your lender suppress a smile
and show how appreciative you are for the favor given to you.
Symbolically, it can be interpreted as a reminder how leaders must act with integrity and use their power
wisely for the benefit of all. This interpretation emphasizes the importance of leadership that is responsive
and inclusive.

***The Golden Rule and the Ibanag Proverb both serve as our guide on our humane approach and way of
dealing and treating our fellows regardless of the stature in life, and of the right manner in being of help
and service among others.
