have known Saundra since she began teaching science at Lake Shore Public Schools
in 2005. As a Nationally Board Certified Teacher, I see in Saundra an exemplary
teacher, one who fulfills all the National Science Education Standards. She has mas-
tered the content and pedagogy beyond most teachers whom I have met.

She is extremely creative in her lesson planning, causing students in her class to
thoroughly enjoy learning. Students who have had her remark on how much they
learned in her class, and she is an inspiration to her colleagues as she willingly
shares her great ideas.

Since leaving Lake Shore, Saundra and I have kept in contact. I have watched her
continued dive into professional development, growing as a teacher-leader, bringing
what she has learned to colleagues and students. Her resume shows her dedication
to continuing her education and leadership. Saundra has great energy and creative
ideas for improving students’ educational experiences and effortlessly transfers her
love of learning to others.

Saundra graduated magna cum laude from Eastern Michigan University, and then
went on to one of Michigan’s most rigorous universities to complete her master’s
degree – Lawrence Technological University.

It is without reservation that I recommend Saundra Rathburn for any position for
