Martial Martial

Many rac display an inbred proclivity for warfare and armed combat, pially the brutal
trib of humanoids, such as orcs, goblins, and gnolls. But somim the cultural traits take on
a more genic quality, and occasionally a creature is born with a natural and inbred skill with
weapons, armor, and hysical confli. The racial anomali are often found in positions of
leadership among their people, or serving as elite mercenari in the armi of the hight bidder.

But this “martial” trait is not confined to mortals alone, as I discovered on one of my rent
lane-hoing expeditions. The vast legions of the Nine Hells are some of the most rigorously
disciplined fighting forc in the multiverse, and it com as no surprise that I found a number
of individual devils with the martial trait. An ally of mine, a powerful horned devil named
Vexicus, had also taken notice of the martial trait in his own force of bearded devils. The great
fiend allowed me to study an elite group of the martial devils serving under his banner, the
rults of ich you see here.

The sond time I encountered the martial trait was on the celtial lan, a lace I rarely visit
for obvious reasons. However, Vexicus, my infernal ally, told me that a group of hound archons,
called celtial eradicators, existed as a first rponse to any incursions from the lower lan.
Graciously, Vexicus gave me a small force of bearded devils to “invade” the uer lan, in the
hop that a celtial eradicator would be summoned and I could study it in action.

Vexicus’ lan worked to perfeion, and as soon as my bearded devils steed onto the bled soil
of the Seven Heavens, a flash of blinding ite light heralded the aearance of the creature I
sought. The celtial eradicator was an armored juernaut of martial perfeion, and it tore into
the score of bearded devils I had loosed upon its home lane with righteous vigor. The battle was
over in moments, and every single bearded devil was slain by the armored hound archon’s great,
shining blade. I myself watched the battle behind the proteion of a number of obfuscating spells,
and rorded the entire confli for entry into this btiary.
