REPORTED SPEECH (Dolaylı Aktarım)
REPORTED SPEECH (Dolaylı Aktarım)
REPORTED SPEECH (Dolaylı Aktarım)
GENEL KULLANIM;
gerekmektedir. Aktarım kısmındaki sabit kuralımız ise özne + said (that) yapısıdır;
➢ I have been eating an apple > He said (that) he had been eating an apple
➢ I was eating an apple > He said (that) he had been eating an apple
➢ I will have eaten an apple > He said (that) he would have eaten an apple
➢ I am going to eat an apple > He said (that) he was going to eat an apple
• Present perfect / Past perfect / Past perfect continuous zaman değişimine uğramaz!
• Eğer aktarma fiilimiz gelecek zamanda ise dolaylı cümlemizi zamanda geriye taşımamıza gerek kalmıyor;
➢ I will asked Craig where he went yesterday
Zaman yapıları gibi modalları da geçmişe taşıyoruz;
• Can > Could
aktarma cümlesinde Simple Present Tense kullansak bile, aynı gün yaşandığı için geçmişe taşıyamıyoruz;
➢ I saw a UFO today > He said (that) he saw a UFO today
Tarih boyunca geçerliliğini koruyan ve fizik kuralları gibi şeyleri aktarırken de zamanı geriye alamıyoruz;
➢ The Earth circles around the Sun > Our teacher said (that) the Earth circles around the Sun
➢ The French Revolution lasted from 1789 to 1799 > Our teacher said (that) the French Revolution lasted
➢ If she were your true friend, she would give you a call once in a while > He told me (that) if she were my
emir verilen eylem yani fiil gelir;
➢ He told Bill to turn around and raise his hands [olumlu emir]
➢ You should drink lots of water > The doctor advised me to drink lots of water [tavsiye]
➢ Could I borrow your pen for a minute? > He asked me to borrow my pen for a minute [rica]
➢ Do not eat the vegetables before you wash them > Their mother warned the children not to eat the
vegetables before they wash them [uyarı]
➢ Don’t come any closer or I’ll jump! > He threatened to jump if we come any closer [tehdit]
cümlelerini aktarırken, if veya whether kelimelerinden yardım alıyoruz. Evet, if kelimesinin böyle bir anlamı daha
var! Bu, cümleye [-olup -olmadığı] gibi anlamlar katıyor. Said veya told yerine asked fiilini kullanmayı da aklımızda
tutuyoruz;
➢ Are you from Korea? > He asked us if / whether we were from Korea
➢ Did you enjoy the party? > She asked me if / whether I had enjoyed the party
➢ Will the guests stay over? > My wife asked me if / whether the guests would stay over
➢ Can I call you by your first name? > The man asked the woman if / whether he could call her by her first
name
➢ Did you enjoy the party? > She asked me if / whether I had enjoyed the party or not
• Ama whether yapısı ayrıcalıklı davranarak, or not kelimesini hemen kendisinden sonra da alabilir;
➢ Are you from Korea? > He asked us whether or not we were from Korea
➢ Did you enjoy the party? > She asked me whether or not I had enjoyed the party
• Peki, ne zaman if ne zaman whether kullanıyoruz?
whether kullanabiliriz;
➢ Did you enjoy the party? > She asked me if / whether I had enjoyed the party or not
➢ My wife asked me if / whether he could call her by her first name or not
whether, Noun Clause olarak kullanılmaktadır ki, burada da bu kullanımı anlatılacaktır;
➢ My wife asked me whether the guests would stay over or they would stay at a hotel
• Yine sadece whether’in kullanıldığı bir durum da özne pozisyonunda kullanıldığı cümleler;
➢ Whether she is 29 or 30 years old isn’t an obstacle to get the job
• Wh- soru cümlelerinde ise soru cümlesini aktarırken cümleyi olumlu hale getirerek aktarıyoruz;
➢ Where do you go every day? > He asked me where I went every day
➢ Who is that man? > I asked you who that man was [olumlu cümleye döndüğü için to be fiili, yani was
➢ Where will you be tomorrow around 03:00 PM? > My friend wanted to know where I would be the
following day around 03:00 PM
• Who ve what kelimeleri özne olarak da kullanıldığından, bu yapılarla soru cümlesi aktarırken cümleyi olumlu
yapmaya gerek kalmıyor;
➢ Who knows the answer? > The teacher asked who knew the answer
istediğimiz anlamı veremiyor ise o zaman hiç düşünmeden whether kullanırız;
