We have about 710 students attending Sawyer Road Elementary. Total PTA Memberships are 208 73 are Teachers and Staff at Sawyer and 135 are Parents, Guardians and Grandparents. PTA is open to everyone who wants to make a difference. We want to grow and strengthen our PTA so that we can better serve our children and our school. Together, we will achieve great things! Join Us!

Grandparent / Grandfriend Lunch

If you are a Grandparent or honorary Grandfriend of a Sawyer Road student, please join your student for lunch on Thursday, November 10, during your student's lunch time (please check with your students teacher if you are not sure when his/her class goes to lunch). The cost is $3.50 per adult lunch (cash only) and students eat free. The event flyer went home in last weeks Star Report. Please return the bottom portion to RSVP. Yearbook dedications will be available for purchase during lunch that day. We hope to see you there! Diversity Means Video Following the National PTA Reflections Theme, "Diversity Means," the Sawyer Road Elementary PTA created a "Diversity Means video. Students, staff and Sawyer Road parents had the opportunity to explain what the word "Diversity" means to them. All the footage in the video was taken at Sawyer Road Elementary. Thank You To Our International Night Volunteers

A special "Thank you" to everyone who contributed to the success of International Night! And a very special "thank you" to our IB Ambassadors who assisted with the evening!

Snack & Wrap for Staff Snack and Wrap is a staff appreciation event the PTA is offering on December 14. SRE staff will bring in their holiday gifts and parent volunteers will wrap them. We are seeking volunteers and donations. Some of the items needed are wrapping paper, ribbons, tape, bows, boxes, snacks, and some other miscellaneous items. Look for more information in a future Star Report.

Butter Braids
Thanks to all of you who supported our Butter Braid Fundraiser! With your help, PTA is able to contribute to our childrens fieldtrips this year! Order Pick Up will be Friday, November 11th from 3-7pm in the Cafeteria. Please make arrangements to pick up your order because we don't have freezer space to store orders and they will be returned to Butter Braid.

Box Tops for Education Winners

Thanks to everyone who sent in Box Tops! The top three classes were 2C (Clement) with 55 pages, 2A (Husain) with 53 and 3B (Garner) with 46! 2C wins breakfast with Mrs. Sims and 2A and 3B, along with KA, KF, 1C, 1D, 2D, and 2F, each win a party! Way to go! Please join us in welcoming our new PTA Treasurer, Rochonda Smith, and our new Family Engagement chair, Jillian Beasley! Both ladies bring a wealth of knowledge to our school and we are looking forward to a great year together!

Starfish Connect The PTA would like to invite all parents and guardians to a monthly social the second Tuesday of every month. If you have questions about the PTA, want to volunteer but don't know how or you just want to network and meet other Sawyer parents, please join us. We will meet in the PTA room, which is located in the 4th and 5th grade wing. It's the last room down the hall on the right. You can't miss us! Join us Tuesday, November 8th between 7:45 am and 8:30 am. There will be light snacks and refreshments. Reflections 2011 - 2012
Sawyer Road is proud of our eleven students that will represent our school at the District level of Reflections on November 10 at Marietta Middle School. We wish them luck on moving to the next level of competition!
