Re: Reference for Ms. Madeline Pittman (Maddie)

To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure to recommend Maddie Pittman, a highly valued pre-service health and

physical education teacher. As both an assistant professor and field experience supervisor at
Kennesaw State University, I have had the pleasure of working with Maddie for the past three
years. She is a driven, organized teacher who develops inspiring relationships with her students.
Her early field experience assignments have been with elementary, middle, and high school
students with varying abilities. Ms. Pittman is, in my opinion, a truly gifted educator. She quickly
develops a good rapport with all students she encounters, establishes solid rules, routines, and
expectations, and employs consistent and fair practices in her classroom. Maddie has already
taken an active role in coaching volleyball within the community, providing students with the
knowledge, skills, and opportunities to refine their game concepts.

Ms. Pittman takes an active interest in the well-being of each of her pupils. She maintains
close observation of her students, understands each of their differences, and provides all with
modifications, extensions, and feedback in a very thorough and meaningful way. Her pupils
respond well to her engaging approach to education and genuine interest. Under Ms. Pittman’s
guidance and encouragement, her students consistently realize measurable gains and improve in
both the psychomotor, cognitive, as well as the affective domains of learning.

As an undergraduate student, Maddie is highly optimistic and cooperative. She has a

strong work ethic and seeks to give 110% in all work-related requirements. It has been my
pleasure to have worked with Ms. Pittman. She is a hardworking, well organized, committed pre-
service teacher who has given much to her own peer colleagues as well as to the students with
which she is entrusted. Maddie is well-respected in the Health and Physical Activity Leadership
(HPAL) program at Kennesaw State University as well as with her peers, cooperating teachers,
and students.

I am pleased to recommend Ms. Madeline Pittman, without reservation, for any teaching
and coaching position requiring hard work, initiative, loyalty, and dedication. If you would like
further information, please do not hesitate to contact me on my cell at (256) 606-1156 or by
email dbaxte11@kennesaw.edu.

Sincerely,
Dr. Deborah Baxter, Ph.D.
