II. SO WHAT?
This week the events that stuck out to me the most were my meetings and my work
on the College Student Voting Poster. The poster stuck out to me because it required
me to use Canva which I have not spent much time using before. It was fun to play
around with and explore the website while trying to create an engaging poster. I

learned a lot about social media design and trying to keep content consistent with
our organization's branding. This has been one of my most engaging tasks in a few
weeks because it involved me actively trying to gain and hone a new skill.

I also learned a lot about the role that various committees and committee members
play in the organization as a whole. In the GOTV meeting, it felt as though the
committee had very lofty goals but no tangible ideas of how we, the staff and
interns, could help them achieve those goals. During the meeting, Jordan (another
intern) and I were taking notes and trying to develop action steps or deliverables
based on the things the committee wanted to achieve. Recently, I have been
working closely with Jordan on a variety of things and have had to figure out ways to
delegate and attack the work assigned to us efficiently and effectively. This has
involved a lot of brainstorming and collaboration.

Finally, this week we got to meet our new CEO! the organization was expecting to
have our CEO by December but the search took a lot longer than expected. It felt
good to finally have someone to guide us through the next few months/ year which
is a very big year in terms of voting and our voting campaign. From this meeting I
realized that leadership really is important in order to make progress and good
leadership is essential to good progress.

III. NOW WHAT?

In the coming weeks, for our GOTV campaign, I will be required to continue using
Canva to create more graphics. I am excited about this as it will help me to continue
to develop my skills in creating appealing and informative visual content. While I am
in the early phases of using Canva I want to get familiar with different templates. To
do this, I am going to challenge myself to use a different template for each of my
Canva tasks. This will not only increase my Canva proficiency but will also mean that
the organization has templates for every social media page to use as they please
therefore increasing our visibility on social media on as many platforms as possible.
In addition to this, Jordan, who I have been working closely with is leaving next
week. This means that most of the GOTV work will fall back onto me. I am not too
worried about this; I think it is a manageable workload. However, I want to continue
practicing to split up tasks as if I were going to delegate them. While this may sound
odd, I think it will help me to ensure tasks are manageable and approachable. In
doing so I will consider how big or demanding each task is and then organize them
into chunks that are completable in relatively short time frames.
