1. Display pictures of road signs on the board.


2. Point to each sign, describing the name and function of each.
I. PRE-LESSON
3. Explain to the pupils that road signs are important because they help people follow rules
of the road to keep drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians safe.
4. Pupils watch a video clip and answer questions posed by the teacher.

II. Activity 1 b. Why was the boy’s hand injured?
c. What did the cyclist do before turning to the right?
d. Is it important to follow road traffic laws? Why?
5. Pupils get into groups.
III. Activity 2 6. Teacher gives each group a few questions and answer cards.
7. Pupils match each question card with the correct answer card.
8. Pupils role-play a traffic situation.
IV. Activity 3 9. Pupils are given different roles to play. e.g. pedestrians, traffic policemen, cyclists, motorists.
10. Pupils role-play by following the traffic signs. e.g. turn right, STOP at the red traffic light
11. Summarize the lesson by telling pupils that it is the responsibility of all road users to know
